Thurmond III needs to be our #2 CB

Pump the brakes, one excellent game does not a starting DB make.

Thurmond has shown terrific cornerback skills since he stepped on the field in 2010, including several interceptions that were snagged by other guys but initially broken on and deflected by Thurmond. He's brilliant at that like few corners in the league. He hasn't had the chance to show it all yet, because he's been either injured or superseded on the depth chart by Browner. The hints have always been there.

And CANHawk, he played in 22 games in 3 years before this year. I realize it's not the 52 we'd have hoped for from 2010-2012, but it's also not eight.

So you're right. I forgot he played in so many games his rookie year. But he was playing behind the juggernaught combo of Marcus Trufant and Kelly Jennings, so he couldn't have been on the field all that much...

That's true, but neither did Kam or Sherman. Pete has a way of easing many of his young players onto the field unless they're badly needed.

I haven't seen Browner do anything like that since his suspension.
