The Falcons may recover and become a competitive team down the stretch. But the experts were picking them to be dominating the NFC which I do not see.

Defenses are ahead of the offenses right now

Kansas City and Detroit are well rounded complete teams

Anthony Richardson and CJ stroud are both very talented

New kick off rule is going to have more returns

Early front runners for sneaky “better than we thought “ teams include Minnesota , the Jaguars, New England , and Arizona

I'd still say Watson trade was worse if only because he's dragging a better team down with him.

I disagree on Minny. The Giants are trash.

Deshaun Watson's trade and extension are the worst in league hihistory
From a footballing point of view RW3s must be competing with that.

The decision to trade for and extend Watson was only worse because of what he had done off the field.

It's only 1 game, but I am so glad we didn't go for the "comfortable, familiar" hire in Dan Quinn. You know, the guy that the entire national media had penciled in for us to be the next HC. It would have been Pete 2.0. Here's a snippet i found on their game yesterday. Tell me this doesn't sound like a Pete defense.

"But most concerning of all, the biggest bugaboo from 2023 - their wretched third down defense - has yet to be corrected.

The Commanders' defense made a lot of big plays but consistently failed when it mattered most. And the results showed it.

They surrendered 37 points to an offense that averaged 20 last year. In 2023, the Buccaneers averaged 313 total yards per game. They racked up almost 400 in Week 1. Until a few kneeldowns at the end, Tampa Bay averaged 6.7 yards-per-play. Last year, they averaged 5.1.

All in all, it was a dismal defensive day."

With Russ though he was at least good in Seattle for a long time and went to 2 super bowls. Watson had the off field stuff, a big injury and they cut Baker Mayfield who has been pretty decent at his last 2 teams now and I don't think was that bad at the Browns.
