Sherman - SMH. I didn't really enjoy his drama while he was a Seahawk, but I dealt with it and possibly even defended it because of his production for the Hawks. Now that he's on the Niners out of "Spite", well this current Sherman I will just change the channel when he speaks because nothing he will say will make me like him at this time.
I think "Spite" was maybe about 4th or 5th on Sherman's list for going to the 49ers.
* 49ers defensive scheme is a good fit for Sherman's skill set.
* 49ers wanted Sherman, and made him the best overall offer.
* Sherman is a Stanford guy, Bay area connections there. Also Sherman is a Compton product. Back to CA and closer to "home".
* Sherman gets to play against the Seahawks twice a year.
Now, IMO, Sherman checks tons of boxes for Narcissistic Personality Disorder. (NPD) He is also a *very smart* guy overall. He had a uncanny knack for pushing things to the edge and getting away with it, thriving on the attention, even if negative, rather than being distracted by it. Sherman also has a side where he sincerely tries to help others, and he also has always been a very hard worker, putting in the study and reps and work to become excellent at his craft.
Now, one thing about NPDs. They love, love, love, not just being able to kill TWO birds with one stone, but kill NINETEEN birds with one stone. (with apologies to Audobon members) Then, they congratulate themselves on their brilliance and uniqueness, especially compared to all the mere mortals who will never reach their level of cleverness.
Sherman overall? For me, love/hate relationship, but definitely *respect*, and I wish him well, just not against us.
Remember him mouthing off to Skip Bayless? "I'm better at LIFE than you!" Classic Sherman.

Earl? He can flip himself off and then follow through on it, for all I care. Great player, but became butthurt and toxic after not getting what HE wanted. Also, as I understand it, he chose to bypass a stronger surgical repair with his first leg break, against the wishes of Seahawks doctors, leading to his second leg break. So instead of Earl accepting responsibility for the natural consequences of HIS OWN choices, he flips off the team, the fans, the organization. Sure, he SAYS it's just Pete, but if so, then flippin do that privately. I just hope, for his sake, that he hasn't spent all $78M or so career earnings so far, $100M+ if he finishes out his contract, and that he'll be able to feed his family and put gas in the Rolls on such chicken scratch earnings. An emotionally healthy person would at least feel and express some actual *gratitude* over their great fortune in life, and the organization and people that made it possible for him.
