This surpasses my pick of 12 wins and I’m not pissed. Let’s get 14.

First time the hawks had 13 wins we went to the Super Bowl in 2005, second time we got 13 wins we won the Super Bowl in 2013.

Today is the third time in franchise history we have reached thirteen and in mikes sophomore season we can set the new record at 14 with the final brick over San Fran in the road through Seattle to the superbowl

This win today is satisfying for sure. However these slow starts leave me gasping for breath. The Panthers are certainly capable of playing at a high level. We know that by their win over the Rams. So another slow start had me worried Darno was going to pull a Geno trick, which he did, but I worried there would be more of the same and we would be desperate to find a way to pull this out. As the 4th quarter progressed so did Darno and the rest of our team. Relief! Here's hoping the Bears take some of the heat off our matchup with the niners nest week without stealing the conference lead in the process.

Ditto on the starts!!

I have a little conspiracy theory of sorts going on here…now, this sounds insane but bear with me.

Is it possible we’re ‘holding back’ a bit in the first halves? Like, we’re not trying to show our entire repertoire unless in dire need? Chess not checkers?

It can’t just be adjustments….it’s uncanny. We literally look like an entirely different team after the half…

Someone…for the love of hayzuz, please explain.

I trust Darnold to have his heart in it. Our defense is top shelf. We score on defense. Zack charbonett is playing great and so is Barner

I don’t know if we’re holding back, I hope we’re holding back, I don’t think we know what we want to do. We start off with k9 then Zack takes over then we try to stand in the face of the rush and force it to JSN till we have some kinda turnover then we finally throw it to Barner and barnyard ensues. Then everyone starts clicking. I thought saubert coulda had a td on one of those scramble roll outs if he hadn’t been like the 5th option. The TEs are the key to unlocking this offense. The stupid trick plays are evidence to me that they are still trying to figure out their identity.

Holding back??? I doubt it. The other team gets paid too. Today we played a team fighting for a playoff spot. They gave us a fight
I get that bruddha man. I’m not taking anything away from our opponents. Winning is hard in the NFL.

But how the hell do we look like a different team on offense, after the half, game after game after….

It’s mind boggling.

We are not holding back.

The thing is that the DVOA Rankings Defensively for the Panthers were fools gold to the eyes.

They played 10 rankings above what they're listed at.

Someone made a good point : They really are a different team at home.

Now the Niners on the other hand.... :devilish:

This team can win so many ways. That’s why I am always encouraged despite slow starts and slow halves. We aren’t to the level of the Eagles bad halves, but both teams depth of talent throughout the roster erases so many shortcomings.

With an ELITE defense - you can do so much. Most games we don’t HAVE to score more than 20 points a game to win. In the case of the Panthers game - we pounded the rock and it chewed time consuming drives and takes interceptions off the table - which is how Carolina beat the Rams…

Hell - the last 2 weeks is what I would call Playoff Morph mode - this is what we are going to look like the rest of the year, and especially with Sheed and Horton on the sidelines. Teams are going to bracket JSN… he will still get his targets (9-14 a game), but K9/Charbs both are going to get served down the stretch and into the postseason because we NEED both.

The X-Factor I think we are about to see unleashed even more in newly designed plays we’ve been saving - AJ Barner is about to become an absolute weapon. He’s been making huge plays for us but I think he’s going to be called on even more and designed open in the postseason. He’s an emotional sparkplug and the team feeds on his energy. We need him to take an even greater role going forward.

I’m so stoked for this postseason - we’ve made it here- might as well win the whole…f’n… thing.
