Full disclosure.

I watched the first quarter live and moved on once the Rams were about to go on top 10-7. I hated how much yards our defense was giving up and it really pissed me off.

The next time we checked the score it was 13-13 early in the 3rd. Okay cool. I guess.

My hypertension gets to take a vacation when I don’t watch these games live. Had I known it was 30-14 with 9 minutes left in the 4th I would have lost my shit.

Once we found out it was 30-30 OT I manned up and watched the entire OT live.

I saw what you all saw.

Sam Mo Fo Darnold ending the obnoxious narrative that he can’t win the big games.

Guess what?! HE CAN!!!

Move on! Seahawks may have proven they are the best team in the NFL tonight. Warts and all. We slayed that dragon. Now let’s secure the #1 seed and take care of the Panthers and 9ers.

Holy hell that may have been the best regular season game I have ever seen in my life. Amazon execs are doing inappropriate things behind closed doors right now.

@AROS I had this whole lengthy post about you that I was saving for after you told us you watched the replay after you knew the final score. I was going to thank you for your sacrifice and on about how there is no feeling like it when you don’t know what’s about to happen on that 2 point conversion in OT. That play was our last chance at having any shot at the division and the number one seed. When Saubert caught that ball the excitement just exploded out of me. I felt like how Barner looked celebrating with the fans behind the end zone.

I will say one thing, this Rams team is scary good and they are the only team that I fear seeing in the playoffs. We got the better of them today but dayummm I don’t want to have to try and do it again.

Here and there
I was one along with my son when the Rams were up by two scores, we both thought it was over. Darnold seemed flustered, defense allowed a few big plays..then suddenly Darnold and the defense came alive...we got a turnover and the rest of the night is history..BEST Thursday Night Game Ever..hands down!

If there was no emotions while watching sports it would be pointless. If there were no triumphs, no defeats, ups and downs... it would be pointless. And the biggest games in any sport is the pinnacle.

The sports where I am only a boxscore watcher are sports that don't move me.

If someone truly had to avoid stress for serious health reasons I can understand though.

The two point conversion is a memory I will never, ever forget.

Both myself and my fiance said "Don't be stupid! Take the extra point and tie the game!!" My girl is the epitome of pragmatic. We felt it would be best to play it safe, tie the game and take our chances with 3 minutes left or whatever it was. When we found out they were going for the 2-point play I stood up, remote in hand, ready to push the button that would immediately move off the game so I didn't have to watch a single second of the Rams celebrating...Damn near hyperventilating...

They hike the ball. Time slowed down.

Trips right formation (3 receivers bunched to the right), Sam looks to his right, everybody is covered of course, I am like "Oh no!!", and then No Name Dude releases from his block and is wide open down the middle and Sam finds him for an easy toss...He catches the ball and it was...

INSTANT ECSTACY!!!!!

My girl jumped off the coach and started screaming in joy, bouncing up and down and I quickly joined her...The most joyous, awkward middle-aged couple celebration you have ever seen, so damn glad it wasn't caught on video or it might have gone viral...

We both said afterwards it felt like we won the Super Bowl and it really, really did.

The first thing I said once I gained my composure was "I am just so happy for Sam!" I knew in that moment that the national narrative was slayed. No more talk that Sam couldn't win in the biggest, brightest moments.

Like Al Michaels said, "A game for the ages."

I will never forget this game, and especially that game-winning moment for the rest of my life.

I’m not sure why anyone wanted us to take the PAT there. A tie is as good as a loss. Our defense was tired and the Rams just scored a TD. If they scored again it’s game over and if they don’t there’s a good chance we don’t see the ball anyway. If overtime was a full 15 minutes maybe consider it. If it was early in the season then sure but a tie here may get us in the playoffs but we were getting in the playoffs regardless. This was our opportunity to have a shot at the division and number one seed. We had to go for it

In retrospect, I couldn't agree more.

💯 They won the first game so with a tie they own the tiebreaker for seeding. It was the only choice to make

I feel you all in this thread. What an effing rollercoaster of emotions. My partner and I went to another couples home for the game. I brought the dinner. My turn. I began peed off as hell with our D for letting them gash us on the ground right up the gut and inexplicably letting Puka get wide open for easy receptions to thinking well...the game is still close at the half, and we can still get this thing.

Then the Darnold INT's. Ugh! I'm thinking the Darnold narrative isn't going to die, and that's all I'm going to be hearing from the national media for weeks to come. So we're down 30-14 after the second INT and the partner of the other couple who is THE most optimistic person in the world dejectedly folds the tent. I look at her and play role reversal saying if we can just get a three and out we're still only two TD's and two two point conversions away from tying this thing up (mostly saying this to lift her spirits LOL).

Well we know what happened next. That second two point conversion was INSANE! None of us knew what the hell was going on when the refs started conferring. WTF! Tie game on a play the likes of which I'd never quite seen before. But it WAS the right call. NO EFFING WAY did Charbs really know that was a live ball as he nonchalantly picked the ball up as if he was about to hand it to the refs. If he thought it might have been a live ball he would have dove on it.

Then OT. OMFG! How did we let Puka get so open again for that TD? But we're all still hanging in there thinking it's 4 down territory on every series and let's get this TD. While we were getting closer to the goal line I say to the others if we get in the endzone we should go for two. And we get in on the JSN catch.

There's a delay and the two women literally can't watch the play and step into the kitchen. I'm standing with my friend behind the couch gripping it for dear life. Then we both scream WE WON! And we're all slapping high fives and hugging each other in utter disbelief at the game we just saw.

Just an effing amazing game to have seen. We all knew it was one of the all time great Hawk victories.

What a buzz to rip the hearts out of the Rams and their fans the way we just did. What a high to see Sam come back the way he did and lead us to victory.

I had a bit of a spoiler.

I live in the UK so kick-off was 1am. Couldn't watch it live so got up to watch it first thing this morning on DAZN. I couldn't help seeing the (add free) recording was 2:38 so immediately suspected OT and when we were 16 points down in the middle of the 4th Q unless there was a glitch in the recording I knew we were going to getting it back, when we "missed" the 2 pt conversion to tie I was thinking we must get a safety from the kick off until it was rules a lateral.

I was wondering if Charb knew what he was doing in that conversion, he didn't celebrate when he picked up the ball so he sems like he didn't know it was a lateral, did he pick it up just in case or was he just lucky? I'm not complaining either way.

Agreed. I'm not a 2 point guy myself, take the sure thing. Once we go past midfield I was saying if we score we HAVE to go for 2.

I was calling for going for the win. When I saw they lined up and swapped time outs I was like oh yeah, it’s on.

Best FN game I’ve ever been part of!

Lumen was electric all night!

Man, I’m sorry, I did not get a chance to meet any fellow posters on dot net that was also at the game as well!

Still, surreal to me!

I love this team and DOT NET!!!

Whoah. What was she doing on "the coach" at a time like that? I know you're managing stress during live games....that's a good way to do it I suppose. Kudos to you and your lady.

Yes, I'm sure it was a typo but it brought to mind an old quote from the Boz talking about women grabbing his "head coach". I'm just going to assume you typed it as intended, don't burst my bubble, OK? :)
