Teams have the Texans over a barrel.

It's no secret they will not resign Clowney, and likely will never play a snap for them again.
They have no legit starting RB, and Watson needs someone to take the focus off of him.
Teams cannot resign Clowney to a deal, and even if they could at this point of the year most teams have spent most of their cap.

I bet the Eagles get him for peanuts. And that’s gonna piss me off.

We are not fine at pass rush, not close to it.

So you know more about the team and its needs than Pete Carroll and his coaching staff?

No one knows what our pass rush will be like at this point. I'm just willing to let the first half of the season play out to see where we stand. None of us are coaches.

Other than your apparent paranoia for the Eagles, I don't understand your post at all.

Regardless of where Clowney ends up this year, his 2019 salary will be his franchise tag amount of $16M. There's no way around that... period.

Now, maybe you're talking for 2020 and beyond but at this point, Clowney will be an UFA after 2019 and can sign with any team... included your hated Eagles... but Clowney's 2019 salary is locked in and can't be changed.

And just like that Naz Jones on the IR. Yeah, we need some bodies for the D Line.

Naz's fall irks me. I had such high hopes for him after his debut in 2017.

You and me both, was really stoked. Kid has some talent too. Green needs to step it too, and soon. Not surprised they released Darboh. But, now we get to hear how stupid the front office is blah blah blah
That should be real fun...….

With Naz it's been somewhat apparent from camp reports that for a while he has ben struggling with some knee issue. Too bad b/c he has some pass rush ability.

He's now stashed away until next season.

When your top pass rusher is suspended, your next two are recovering from injuries, and nobody else has proven anything, it's not difficult to suspect that we have a problem.

Well, the Eagles and Hawks should both be pretty good teams. But I can't fathom choosing a hole like Philly, not to mention the psycho fans. The more I hear about this story, the more I'm hoping he comes here. He's a beast, period. Maybe the connection to Brown could help us a bit. Rumor is he can be had for a 2nd round pick. If it's just straight up, sure. Would be worried a little about what else they would want.

Please don't discuss the politics related to my comment, but I really hope Brian Flores decision to try to humiliate and put a player in his place makes Miami a place where Clowney has no interest in going.

You'd trade a second for a likely one year rental of Clowney?

If they get a 3rd round comp later, it's worth considering. Especially because it will likely be a late 2nd rounder they send to Houston. All a matter of opinion, believe it or not. I prefer we have an actual pass rush this year.
But I'm sure this will just turn in to yet another stupid argument between Tical and I. It's just a football discussion :irishdrinkers:
