Seattle Seahawks
One team mentioned as a possible landing spot if Clowney is traded are the Seahawks, a pass-rushing needy defense who traded Frank Clark before the draft. We know that Houston is looking for help at offensive tackle, wide receiver, and running back, so one could speculate that Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny could enter the conversation.

Michael Lombardi is saying on twitter that trade winds are blowing hard, stay tuned. People are saying it involves a WR. More specifically, maybe Alshon to Seattle. Still not sure how I would feel about this. Depends on the price, no higher than a 4th rounder.

Sorry for hurting your feeling for interpreting a tweet and the hear say within the comments. If you don't know what rumor means, I can't help you. I see way more vague rumors on this board that doesn't get you gals riled up. Relax kids.

We've had people in the past who have joined the board just to gain attention for themselves using completely fabricated trade rumors.

The old hands around here will know who's being referenced. Based on your join date, Dutchcoug, you should know who's being referenced. It's one reason some people are tetchy about trade rumors. They don't want their time wasted.

I don't see why that's so unreasonable.

You don't lose comp picks for trades though, so I'm assuming you mean trade a low third/fourth pick which we will later receive back as a comp pick if Clowney doesn't stay?

The reason for this would be that you get 1 year of pro-bowl level talent in a year where your first round draft pick lineman has been injured, your first choice interior DL is suspended 6 games and your high profile free agent pickup hasn't practiced all off season.
Then if all turns out well you might even keep him. All fine if you're trading a lower/mid round pick, it's what the Sheldon Richardson trade was supposed to be, except we gave up too much and he's not the same level of talent.

:shock: Harvin played in what, 3 games that season? His contribution to the SB win was more fluff than substance. Take out his KOR TD and we still won by more than 4 TDs.

Jimmy was never really a good fit. He wanted to be a WR and played like one. Problem is, our WRs have to block. That was apparently beneath him. People whined about "how do we replace his 10 TDs?" Funny thing, we found a way.

Truth is Pete likes to work with the younger guys anyway.

Agreed, i would add that just because a trade doesn't work out doesn't mean it's not the right play. If we want to be a contender this year to me Clowney is a must and i don't see how giving up a late second and gaining a later 3rd is gonna hurt us down the road. We have plenty of picks to wheel and deal next year as well. If there was ever a year for Clowney to be motivated it's gonna be this year.

Would you take your trade if you were Houston? My guess is it'd have to be more along the lines of DK and a 2nd oe 3rd. Or a veteran we don't have.

Houston sees themselves as a contender, so my guess is rookie or project players are out. They're going to want a top tier veteran for a top tier DE.
