In my opinion, the 4th and goal stop with just under 5 minutes to go was the biggest play of the season, and the best executed defensive play under Macdonald’s tenure.
From the pre snap look, we (the Seahawks) have a mushy sort of a 46 front. Several guys are standing up at the LOS, in a look that I’ve only seen a few times so far under coach Macdonald. This unique look gives Stafford a new wrinkle to process from the jump, which I love.

Now once the ball is snapped, we drop Leo into coverage, and only send 3 true rushers, dropping the rest into coverage in man, with Leo as essentially a spy/robber sort of look to disrupt the middle passing lane and the goal line.

This leaves Stafford with very few options, and he forces a pass to Ferguson with Witherspoon in tight coverage.
I absolutely loved this defensive playcall. A true chess match between Macdonald and McVay, our coach won this hand, and it all started with the pre game smoke and mirrors with our defensive look.
This play was enormous and proved to be the difference maker.
