I don't see how anyone could rank us above the Broncos right now. Yes, they have a soft schedule, but they are in the midst of an all-time performance.

Yup and you can't really blame them for their schedule. They're doing what they're supposed to do to weak teams in blowing them out. These rankings are obviously on a week to week basis, so only time will tell who the best team really is.

Because we did that 3 games in a row last year and all we were were "media darlings".
And we did it to the team everyone considered the best in the league, not the teams fighting to be the worst

Difference is Denver is doing it in the beginning of the season and could potentially(although obviously not likely) continue doing this the rest of the season. The Hawks did it near the end of the season and if you factor in how they did in the beginning of the season with their blow out wins, it kind of balances it out for the power rankings. It's not like they ranked the Hawks low either, we were consistently a top 3-5 team at that point.

Not saying Denver is clearly better, but I don't think Seattle is clearly better either. It's pretty much a toss up for me.

I wouldn't want to face the broncos at this point in time. Give it some time for us to be 100% healthy, different story. Maybe we can play them on a neutral field in a few months, and see how it turns out. GoHawks.

I never cared for rankings or the like for Pro Football. They state the obvious most times and then maybe a few teams get some love for being who they are.

The Hawks are going to lose a few games, one could be this weekend. They will still be a fantastic team with playoff aspirations, but they will drop in the power rankings or attention meter. It doesn't matter now and it won't matter then, but it is weird to see them getting all of the attention.

In 2005 they didn't really get it until they pasted Carolina, so seeing the Hawks get picked by many of these pundits is out of place.

Yep, they've outscored their opponents -such as they are - 179 to 91. It's not like the Seahawks have a 9 game regular season winning streak going which started with four games against tougher opponents where they outscored them 173 to 47.

Okay, I'll give Denver credit, they're on a 15 game regular season winning streak, it's true. We've started off rough this year and they've started off fast. We're both 4-0 and that's the only ranking that really matters anyhow.

Sorry I disagree Denver has played only 1 road game against the 30th ranked team. They have played 3 home games against the 28th and 27th ranked teams and a opening week game against an over rated Ravens team that still didn't know who their new players were.

We on the other hand have had to travel 2 times across country for 10 am starts and one was against the number 2 best defense and probably the best defensive front in football. In addition Carolina has a great defense and are a few seconds away from being 2 and 1. Finally we had to play the (at the time) number 1 ranked team and thrashed them. We have only had 1 easy game.

Of course Denver has ridiculous stats. They have feasted on the Giants Philly and Oakland. My dead mother could score on those teams.

Look, I have no problem with the Broncos being #1, but let's be real, they played teams a combined 4-8 (taking out their losses against Denver), with three of those games at home.

No, they cannot control who they play, but that doesn't mean that we can't take that into account when judging how good they actually might be.

I don't want to see Denver make the Super Bowl especially if we are in it too. The media frenzy would be all about Manning for two weeks.

We still in the midst of an all-time performance as well, DEFENSIVELY.

Not many teams would be able to hold a team like the Texans flying on all cylinders to only 20 points.

Not to mention a team with about 40 minutes of possession, and a team that ran 88 plays.

Teams with those stats are scoring 30-50 points a game.

Yes, we allowed 20 points in 1 qtr but we didn't allow a single point in 4 other QTRs. We kept one of the best offenses on paper to about 4.33 points a QTR in their own house, nonetheless.

Ravens D of 2000 highest points allowed in a single game were 36, 23, 20, and 19.

In the game they allowed 36 points they still forced 4 turnovers.

In the game they allowed 20 points they forced 6 turnovers.

Seahawks D is still on a historical path of their own and we aren't playing scrub offenses like the Broncos are playing scrub everything.
