This was an abomination. I don’t want to hear injury excuses, he had no idea how to move the ball without a run game. Against likely the worst defense in football. And he kept forcing the run into stacked boxes and run blitzes. Baker clearly knew when runs were coming and where. Top it off after a huge momentum swing FG block with two runs to a guy they didn’t trust til 3 other RB’s got hurt. They had a 3 and out in the red zone.

Didn’t do anything to get DK and Lockett involved til late in the game. Didn’t move the pocket with a struggling line. Didn’t bring any sort of quick slants against a very susceptible cardinals secondary. All these things were problems at his prior jobs, except he has a MVP caliber QB this time. Zero first downs in the second quarter. I think they said zero pass yards too. Defenses have adapted to defend the deep looks against us and stack to stop the run. He even mentioned seeing more deep safety looks then before and yet, here we are with another adjustmentless game.

Every team knows we dont run quick stuff. Every team knows PC wants run and shots down field. Every knows most of our big plays come from off script so keep Wilson in pocket were screwed. This is PCs system completely built to minimize our best player and get him beat the f up.

I still want to know why Russell isn't using his LEGS to get out of heavy pressure situations like he used to? Is he hiding an injury we don't know about? Is it poor play calling? What the hell is the reason for Russell to fold like a deck of cards as soon as there is pressure?? What happened to that being the nightmare scenerio for defenses?!?!?

This team doesn't make gameplan adjustments, it just doesn't, period. The coaching staff thinks they can plug and play and just stubbornly keep the gameplan with no changes when that clearly isn't working.

There was a play where on 3rd and 3 we ran Homer up the gut and didn't get it. That means the people calling plays would rather trust our 3rd string RB who hasn't seen meaningful action all year over Russ. Sigh.

We came out guns blazing. Schotty actually made me long for the Bevell days when we wouldn't start to score until the 2nd quarter

Someone needs to tug on his face and make sure Bevell isn’t hiding in there. Seriously, they could not have beaten a single team in the NFL with this game plan. You have the highest paid player in the NFL and your running it to your 4th string rb on 3rd and 4 in the red zone?

Short passes and switching up the tempo got us a quick 7 points. What do we do? Not go back to it.

Yeah that about covers the abomination

Not to be a dick, but actually he's the 4th string RB. What made that play call even more of a freaking joke was that it was in the Red Zone

This right here.

Old man Carroll cannot be taught new tricks.

He lives and dies on these big plays down the field but when they clearly aren’t working he isn’t competent enough to change things up.

Then he just keeps doing it and doing it and forces it to work.

No he keeps doing it and hoping Wilson can pull his arse out of the fire.

And the saddest part is they've switched it on in previous games with great success too. Far too often this year the team has this identity it feels like it has to force and for 2/3 of the game they can't move the ball. Then they get a bit of tempo, get guys the ball in space, and they drop 21 points in 10 minutes. For the life of me I can't explain why it feels the team purposefully hamstrings themselves.

Defenses 100% have adjusted to Schotty's routine. Two deep safeties on obvious play action downs, keying on the deep play action shots, and stacking the box expecting runs often. The deep shots haven't been there in a few weeks and yet they still will run and run and run just to TRY and set up the deep pass. The short/intermediate routes are there for the taking, just like our D gives up, and we have plays to Turner 30 yards down field where he isn't even looking for the ball.

What’s sadder is Carroll fails to see it and does not want to adjust.

With all the injuries and Petes refusal to adapt midgame I feel like were in a bad
Situation moving foward. All those backups just cant play to the same level ... Duh.

I felt like we would have a rough time before all the injuries.

The pit
First drive was pure brilliance. All the drives that followed were pure BS.
If something is working you keep doing it until the other team proves they can stop it consistently.
That’s basic coaching 101.

Out smarted themselves. Does this coaching staff just enjoy moving away from strategies that work?
