Statistically, Tre Flowers is one of the worst cornerbacks in NFL History.

https://www.fieldgulls.com/2020/10/...nbar-seattle-seahawks-cornerbacks-2020-season
"In Flowers’ limited (192 of a possible 391) snaps in 2020, he has been the easiest target in football. Quarterbacks are completing a shocking 84.2% of passes thrown at Flowers this season, with the corner allowing 12 yards per target—not per completion, per target. For context, the NFL record for highest completion percentage in a single season is 74.4%; the record for yards per attempt is 9.9. If a quarterback was able to throw exclusively at Flowers for an entire season they would set records that are at Wayne Gretzky levels of unachievable."

White-knighting for him is absolutely bizarre. What's next? Waxing poetical about Kelly Jennings?!

Coincidentally both wore #21. Never let a corner where that number again, it is cursed I tells ya.

Ok white knighting...anyway...now look at stats as for as being scored upon. You.know the thing that matters most. Points scored or not scored. The compare him to the best cbs in the game. Like I said he gives up the completions, but not scores.

Just ignored what I said and took it for what you wanted. Then looked up stats that are useless to my argument made.

One would argue that some here are allowing their dislike of Flowers to cloud their judgement of Jones. The disdain for Flowers is understandable, that does not make any replacements better than Flowers. Jones' a veteran, an under-performing vet. A change of scenario may turn around his career, but who knows.

Millen is a good X’s and O’s guy.
His talent evaluation skills suck though. Still waiting for him to eat his microphone for being wrong about Russ.

Nobody has gospel word when it comes to drafting. Ya, he ate words on Russ as many pundits did, but was spot on with DK, Penny, and McDowell for starters.

Mal, that sucks for Jones.

No one said "Sidney Jones won't be cut in 2022," so your victory lap looks a little silly. The entire defense, in no small part due to Jones doing solid work, tightened up in the second half of the year.

If anything, you're highlighting that you were entirely wrong about how the rest of the 2021 season would play out, including in regards to how Jones played.

Sure. Spin it how you want. Jones was not good and in the end I was 100% right. He was so bad at the end, they could not even get a trade offer for him. Just admit you were wrong on Jones and move on.

But you weren't right. You blindly deferred to PFF on a one-game sample regarding his first action, and the entire defense got considerably better from that point onward.

You weren't just not right, you were pretty much totally wrong, dude.

If I see someone else doing the same thing I will absolutely do just that. Folks, it's silly to revive old threads to pad your egos, proving you were right or whatever it is that stirs you to do it. All I ask is if you wish to revive an old thread, make it relevant and constructive, NOT destructive as in making others feel bad about their opinions or takes. We are ALL Seahawks fans, so if I keep seeing this ugly trend, I will pull this car over and there will be collateral damage.

Jones played well. He was just beat out by other guys at what has turned out to be a stacked position for Seattle. Why would teams offer draft capital for someone they know Seattle would release?

He did not play well this yr in his time per PFF. He was slightly below average per the rating. You are correct that he was beat out.
