Already down 1-0 after a first pitch fastball home run.
Guys like Flexin and Marco (and their 86-90 mph batting practice fastballs) need to stay away from first pitch fastballs since they cannot throw it by anyone.

I’d fine pitchers that give up first pitch fastball home runs.

End of old man “get off my lawn” style rant.

This Kelenic guy has been un-freaking-real! Just, wow. Edit: It's definitely time to change up the batting order a bit so he can drive in a few more runs more often.

Wong didnt know there were 2 outs and just cost us a run. Huge running on base mistake. He's not there mentally at the plate, defense or on base. Stop playing him.

Luckily France just bailed him out.

Once again Wong messes up, unable to secure the double play, extending the inning. Next pitch, Flexen throws a meatball for a 3 run homerun.

Seriously, why is Wong still out there? What a bum

That one's on Flex. Hung some 88mph garbage out over the middle of the plate to a really good hitter with a lot of power.

Man, between JP and Wong (lately), Julio has been getting a lot of AB's with runners on. Just hasn't been able to do much with those opportunities. That's going to need to change sooner rather than later if this team wants to make the playoffs again.

Its been known that Chris Flexen isn't starter material. Move him to the bullpen, now, before it gets worse.

Wong has cost this team 4 runs today. Flexen is awful this year. Servais is not the kind of guy to get his guys pumped up or focused. He can't read his players. For some reason he can't see Wong has been awful in all 3 phases of the game. Dipoto please do something need to do something do your job you're above Servais.

He was in the bullpen. He's only starting because Ray and Marco are both out with injuries or whatever.

Lol. I guess it's official. Wong is the official whipping boy and scapegoat for everything that's either not going right or going wrong for this team right now.

Are we sure the runner would have been out if Wong had held onto that toss? Looked like he might have made it back in time to me.

C'mon man. The first one you're talking about, he ended up scoring anyway, so that obviously didn't cost the team a run. The other 3, Flex hung some noncompetitive garbage pitch in the middle of the plate to a good hitter and got punished for it.

Yes, Wong sucks, but damn. Some of you guys are going to start blaming him for gas prices and the war in Ukraine pretty soon.

Then I am open to replacing Wong for anyone. Kind of makes me miss Adam Frazier.

Damn, then we need to look at waivers and call up the AA farm then. I open to ALL possibilities.

Doesn't matter. The mistakes have equaled to a total possibility of 4 runs worth of mistakes. Even casual fans are noticing how much DH and 2B position are costing them games. I've been watching MLB 20 years the Ms will not be in the playoffs with this continuing. We are 1/8th into the season now.

No doubt. Wong makes that play at second base and the score is 3-3 instead of 6-3 moments later. That's pretty clear and obvious stuff.

I guess the last 4 years Wong did good on other teams. This year, not yet

Any Mariner fan that knows what's going on knows that the M's general management/ownership got cheap this past off-season when it came to shoring up their batting lineup. They needed more zip in the lineup from the middle infield and DH/outfield positions. Dipoto can talk till he's blue in the face about the Castillo and Julio signings, but those two were no-brainers if they were serious about being competitive the next few years if in fact those players chose to sign their contracts. They could have added millions more in payroll had they chosen to do so without putting themselves in any kind of financial jeopardy.

Also pretty clear and obvious stuff that if Flex doesn't throw a batting practice quality pitch there to give up a 3 run HR, it's still 3-3.

Also pretty clear and obvious that we only scored 3 runs today and lost by 4. Take away that 3 run HR that is apparently Wongs fault, and we still lose.

Meanwhile, our pitching gave up 13 hits (including 3 HR's) and 5 walks, while Wong went 3 for 4, for half of our 6 total hits in the game.

Again, yes, Wong sucks. But he's pretty damn far from the reason we lost today.
