There's a key difference, though. Pete took over a team devoid of talent, coming off nine total wins in the previous two seasons. He stripped the roster bare, rebuilt it from scratch, and still improved on the previous season. Meanwhile, Mike took over a talented young team that won 9 games last season. If Mike can't work with the guys they have, the Seahawks may have hired the wrong coach.
I'm kind of re-thinking about just how talented our "talented young team" really is. People (us) seem to be getting pushed back / ran past / juked out our shorts etc a lot for being talented young team. I guess next off-season's roster churn should be pretty telling one way or the other.

Spot on. For those who have a hard on for Petey boy, he was terrible his first 2 years here. Back to Back losing seasons. Peter wouldn't be doing any better right now. In fact, we'd most likely be 0-6. Macdonald's scheme is extremely complicated and is gonna take time to understand it. Like Aros said, it's the fundamentals that's killing us right now.
Pete won a playoff game his first year. You will never be able to prove that they would be 0-6 right now if Pete is coaching. The scheme is NOT complicated. This post is just mental popcorn.

Complicated and needs the right kind of guys , his guys to make it work. I can't think for a second this is the. Willing for him . He'll figure it out.
Yup. One of the most important positions or even maybe the most position to make this scheme work is the LB's. Coach Mike needs extremely versatile LB's that can move sideline to sideline very quickly and that can cover very well. I personally think Baker and Dotson aren't it. I mean they are Ok but we can do much much better. I expect those 2 won't be back next season.

Are you kidding me right now. Coach Mike's defense is very complicated even the Ravens players have stated this. As far as being able to prove anything. We've had issues stopping the run for awhile now. Pete's defense is probably the simplest to learn and attack at the same time.

Agreed .

I think he will have 4-5 new starters next season . Just a guess but it's my guess

That's fair. The issue seems to be where that talent resides.

For example, we have a talented pass defense with great pass rushers. MM's third-down packages are legit. Even in our most recent losses, when we kept teams out of third and short, we caused all sorts of havoc. The problem is getting to those third downs, which is where talent may be the issue.

That said, I think (hope, maybe) this team is much closer than people realize. It is like Love said: they need to clean up basic stuff.

Some rest couldn't hurt. I was cringing last night when I heard the talking heads mouthing off about San Fran coming in after a short week. Hey, how about the Seahawks playing on two short weeks in succession? 🤷‍♂️
