what was up with titans putting rudolph back in over and over after willis couldn't get any points , just seemed they wanted to win a pre season game really bad and if I were willis I'm not sure how i'd feel about that
Never seen that before , heard of it or something like it i guess but it has been a very long time , just reminds me of something toddlers would do before naptime type stuff
Now I'm gonna watch the whiners titans game from last week cuz i am curious , just doesn't make sense , maybe some odd coaching strategy ?

It's actually fairly simple. They were figuring out who their number 2 would be. Pretty sure they came to a conclusion.

Bubble players? I would say Marquise Blair and Easop Winston helped themselves, but not sure Blair is going to beat out Coby Bryant to make the roster. Winston or Dareke Young could beat out Dee Eskridge for the last WR spot, though. The following are not bubble players but played well: Derrick Hall, Kenny MacIntosh and Laviska Shenault.

Interesting to see that Myles Adams (53) and Mike Morris (47) got so many snaps. That's usually a sign that you're on the bubble. They're not both going to make the final roster. Tyrice Knight also saw 46 snaps. I would think that as a 4th rounder that he would definitely be a keeper.

Nehemiah Pritchett and DJ James, the two corners drafted this year, both played a lot--39 and 37 snaps. Given the depth at that position, I don't think either of them makes the 53.

What to make of Holani only getting 9 plays? Maybe they already know they want to try to put him on the practice squad and didn't want to give other teams a good look at him?
Good post

I think Pritchett makes the team. I had read something somewhere about Morris not being in shape ? Maybe they're trying to push him to emerge. He did miss last season or most of it anyway. There are going to be some good players left out in the end.

I think Okada, Blair, and Winston Jr. all stood out. I think our WR 6 is looking like Metcalf, Lockett, Smith-Njigba, Bobo, Shenault, and Easop.

Howell is firmly QB2. Despite his camp problems, he adjusted quite well after a couple of bad series to start. Walker was pretty terrible.

We may still be watching the game if Myers didn't miss a PAT.
No OT in pre-season, so it still would have ended but likely not on a FG.

Sam Howell played with a lot of poise and made sound decisions . He's one play away from being the starter .
Nah.

I thought our defense gave up alot of yards in the second half, when is the first round of cuts happening ?
I don't think they do rounds anymore. I believe now after the final preseason game, they have a few days to slash 90 to 53.

I don’t think Macintosh is a lock for that #3 spot, his pass blocking has been suspect.

I suspect the coaches saw/got lots to work on (teachable moments) from this game. Rudolph savaged the D with short passes to the edge of the left middle seam. Seems coverage for those passes will need to get adjusted or we will see more and more to our disappointment.

Howell is unquestionably the #2 if there really ever was a question, really looking forward to seeing the #1s play as there was a dropoff from the depth. The edge rush looked to be revving up. Sure liked what I saw from both Mafe and Hall, waiting to see Nwosu and Jones, Taylor was mostly again invisible. The team played most of the game with backups on the DLine and they all looked pretty good. Not sure between Morris and Adams but Morris sure looks the part. Now the DLine looks to be a team strength unlike the past few seasons where there were perpetual questions.

There is a lot of talent on the team at WR and deciding who gets kept will depend on how versatile the players are after the top 4 who are clearly Locket, Metcalf, Smith-Njigma, and Bobo, really think there will some very tough decisions but am liking Shenault, and Young as the choices if 6 are kept. Truly uncertain as to who will be kept of the obvious backups at CB and S

Still are many questions about just who will be the starters at some key positions. Lots of raw talent on the team many may not be kept when the cuts are made. In fact I can see the team trying to trade a few guys.

i wasn’t at unhappy with the team until the mid 3rd Q after that there was little adjusting on the fly and neither the O or D played that well. The D however did truly stuff the run which bodes well.

Still it was a preseason game and that makes assessment more difficult, looking forward to the final preseason game to see how the starters look.

I agree it would be tough to cut a 5th round pick, but at corner, we already have Witherspoon, Woolen, Brown, Burns and Jackson (plus Coby Bryant who is now a safety can play corner). Would they keep 6 CBs on the roster? Probably depends on whether Pritchett is any good on special teams.

I'll be honest i never seen the big deal with Jackson. Thinking they should trade him if we can so we can keep one of the young guys.
agreed. Ive seen him make splash plays here and there but .. otherwise he gets picked on a lot and burned or penalized. To me he's a "JAG"

I saw all of last week's game but only the first quarter last night. Rhattigan has been a pleasant revelation for me from what I have seen. When he got his chances in the past, I don't recall him making plays like he has when I have watched him so far.

Agree. I don’t remember him playing much at all last year other than preseason. This year he’s making the kind of plays you expect from ILB in this scheme, using athleticism to get around the guy coming at him, slice in and make a stop or at least slow somebody down.

We would have won the game if PJ Walker was not the QB in the 2nd half.

He sucked tonight.

You don’t have to add the disclaimer “tonight”. He’s been horrible in both games. I usually don’t care who the emergency 3rd qb is but I don’t want to see Walker on this roster unless he can pull off a miracle and move positions and beat out other young guys. He’s not a qb I want on my team.

I don’t think he’s a lock either but I’ve seen improvement in his blocking and he does seem to see the free rushers and at least slow them down.

On the other hand, I do like Horani. He can block and run but he isn’t there yet when it comes to reading defenses.

I really like our group of RB. And think we can have a good rushing attack this year no matter how it pans out. All the guys from 3 down have things to work on and can all run pretty well. If the line can do there part it could be fun to watch.

Mac is about scheming players to opportune situations where their specific top attribute or set of attributes is focused and effective. I think our D-line is going to take a huge jump this year because of it. PC was about system, ie a zone defense in basketball, an unbreakable clock killing opportunistic one that was only stifled by the NFL rulebook.
