Any one of us who have been a NET member for more than a year or two knows how insufferable this place can be after a bad loss. Several of us will even avoid this forum for days after.

The overreaction and hyperbole is stifling.

I just want to take this moment to appreciate the peace and quiet and the positive vibes before shizz gets real up ahead, lol.

Hyperbole makes it hilarious and highly entertaining. Go look at the Dolphins gameday thread on the Dolphins forums. Comedy gold.

I know we are yet to see a loss with MM, but so far what I'm seeing out of MM's game planning is something that is a lot less frustrating to watch. Where mistakes seem to be more human vs a failure to adapt or a fear so large of mistakes that you make your team entirely one dimensional and your opponent exploits it.

It will get shitty at some point this season - but it won't be the kind of soul-sucking shitty we have been facing for the last several years. Cooler heads will prevail and we will see progress - something sorely lacking last year and several before that.

The only thing I was yelling at yesterday was the refs.

I think we had a great performance before the refs kicked in. And I thought that Grubb did a good job at 'finally adjusting' a gameplan based on what the refs were handing him. Waldron would have caved.

I love the new attitude that Mike has brought to the team. It's noticeable. Lockett actually got off the turn and tried for some YAC yesterday. People have smartened up - and although he's a first year coach, MM has been saying some 'not good enough' things in the press that make me very happy.

Other than the refs - yesterday was great.

Grubb started as an offensive line coach and Grubb was largely responsible for bringing in Scott Huff as the new offensive line coach who is primarily known for his teaching skills. Therefore, one could say that the new offensive expertise brought in is OL-centric. They inherited most of the offensive line. The Seahawks also drafted some OL and signed some free agent OL since their arrival. I have to believe that the future offensive focus will be on improving the offensive line. The number of OL roster spots kept when they reduced the final preseason roster to 53 was the first indicator. I think the scouting department and John Schnieder need Grubb and Huff's input in this area. In fact, they should probably differ most OL personnel decisions to those two.

In short, I think the Seahawks brought in the right people, they just need to empower them and trust them. They also need a reasonable amount of time to implement their vision for the offensive line.

Cross will likely end up being a top five tackle, and he still isn't without faults. It should really drive home how great Walter Jones was. Seattle will never get a tackle that talented again. Jones was more than just a generational talent. Walter Jones was an all-time talent. One of the best to ever lace them up.

Its nice to have a breath of fresh air. Pete deserves nothing but the best, but it was time for a change. So happy not screaming at the defense on almost every down for missing assignments, not tackling, etc. For a rookie head coach, I think we are in for a treat. This lions games will show us a lot, but it's a teaching moment for MM. Win or lose, I bet it's going to help us in the long run.

I was looking at our upcoming schedule yesterday and couldn't believe how difficult it was. I'm just enjoying the ride. One week at a time and all those other annoying cliches. They have to play us too!
Oh I don't know - I just re looked at the schedule - it's not that scary -

Bills and Vikings are the scariest prospects on there at the moment. San Fran? A pretty hobbled lambs took care of them. NY? I don't wanna jinx us - but that's a gimme...... And at home? 11 false starts again please (for those that remember) :) Falcons.... meh.

IMO we don't have a brutal schedule at all - which is nice! We don't have back to back statement games. We don't have any 4 week on the road stretches. We got one Thursday night game - which I hate - but it's after the Giants..... We dont' have a ******* overseas game - thank goodness!

I 'love' the schedule! :)
