Shaquill Griffin entered this Seahawks season vowing to rebound from what he thought was his “D, D-plus” 2018.

He’s ending it in the Pro Bowl. Playing on his college home field.

Seattle’s third-year starting cornerback from Central Florida has been selected for this weekend’s NFL all-star game in Orlando, Fla., inside UCF’s home stadium.

Griffin is replacing Richard Sherman. The former Seahawks All-Pro cornerback, selected to the Pro Bowl last month, is preparing to play in Super Bowl 54 the following week for the San Francisco 49ers against the Kansas City Chiefs in Miami.

Got to admit I am a little surprised by this. He should be proud of this accomplishment. I expect him to be even better next year.

Overall the defense might've been trash but Griffin played exceptionally well, I believe he was 3rd in PDs this year and had an overall completion pct lower than Sherm's

Good on ya Shaq. He was critical of his rookie year and really improved this season. Keep improving Two Six!

No matter one's thoughts on the Pro Bowl, this is a nice honor for Mr. Griffin. He's shown a great work ethic, humility, and class throughout his pro career. If he continues his quest for improvement, we could see him on the All Pro roster some day.

I'm surprised at this also, although I admit I was impressed with his tackling this season and thought he was decent in coverage. He obviously was better than I realized.
