If I'm not mistaken, Shaheed has been right near the top of yards/ reception for a few seasons. He's still working his way in. And down field opportunities have been pretty rare the past few games. I'm not sure he'll ever generate big numbers, but I expect his overall production to improve moving forward.

I have found it weird too, the only thing I can think of is it takes time for a QB & WR to develop chemistry with each other no matter the talent level of the WR, time beats all... it will come just have to be patient and let it happen, with that said. if by week 16, 17, or 18 and there's still no chemistry with Shaheed and he's still not a big part of the gamelan then the redflags will be going off in my head...

Was Murphy a red flag for you too? JSN?

Players provide value in many ways that don’t show up in stats.

I personally like our return game potential much more with Shaheed fielding the kicks.

Keep up the good discussions man. We need more of that. Too many posters have bailed who like to start fruitful discussions.

Regarding the OP, I think it just boils down to poor pass protection. Teams have figured out the weakness to our offense: blitz heavy, blitz often.

Devils advocate view…good discussions are appreciated, but when a poster says “time beats all” and “wait to see” but finishes saying “if by weeks x,y, and z, then red flags”…it invites responses that provide a differing view. And rightfully so IMO.

Poster wasn’t called to be banned, or lambasted personally in some dramatic manner. His view was highlighted for what it was…extreme, uninformed, and illogical. Not the 1st or last, and should be expected.

If someone is critical about your post, think twice about responding defensively or evaluating if they might have a point. Good discussions allow opposing views. The more determined and certain the post, the more likely a colorful opposing view.

I sort of get what you’re saying, but either I’m reading the wrong thread or…? The OP didn’t mention anything about red flags. Again, I may be missing what you’re referring to with this particular thread.

Ever since we got him the offensive passing game has gotten worse each week. Horton was doing great. And now he doesn’t see the field. Horton is a better blocker.

Maybe a better way to look at it is since Horton has been out the Hawks passing game been so-so. Horton should be ready for the playoffs and that would be a huge boost.

Is there a need for him to block, the guy that should be 40 yards up field? Well of course there is, but it's probably only a small part of his responsibility.

I was against the trade, but looking on the bright side at least Schneider didn't immediately hand him an extension.
I did find it a little weird how both sides were gushing about wanting to sign an extension (after the season) before he had even played a game with us. I think it's safe to say that the Hawks are not going to offer him a big contract. They may not even offer him a contract at all, because their "fair value" should justifiably be low compared to how other teams may view him. Kinda like Eugenio Suarez and the mariners. He was doing really well before the trade, and did horribly afterward. Any offer from the Ms would be an insult compared to what other teams would offer him.

It's going to suck on draft day.

Shaheed is a threat. Horton is a threat. It's really hard to consistently 'matriculate' your way down the field without such threats.

Mr. Rental The Rented is too busy lining up his next contract with another team to catch any passes.
