We are getting plenty of respect. If you don't think so, you're being awfully selective about what you read and listen to. That said, the story line that many people expected did not play out, so there will be rationalization from some folks.

The stage was set for the #1 offense lead by a future HOF QB that would 'cement his legacy' with this game. Let's also not forget about the desire to see Champ Bailey ride into the sunset with a ring after playing his heart out from his coach, who recently recovered from a stroke. The whole lead-in shaping into the perfect story until the Hawks stomped that love fest into the Field Turf at Met Life stadium. We laid it on 'em so hard that not even the zebras had a chance! So proud of our boys!

Enjoy the moment; we are champions! Art Thiel re-tweeted an exchange between Richard Sherman and a hater that basically said Richard "didn't contribute a thing all game" and then talked about him leaving the game with an ankle injury saying "karma's a bitch" Richard responded by posting a pic of himself hold the Lombardi Trophy and said "I'm happy." That's a perfect example of how to respond to the haters. We are the champions..swallow that!

You can obsess about haters and doubters all day long, but nothing will ever make them all go away because we have more that one team in the league. I know a few Patriot fans that still claim their team gets no respect, so playing that card really reaches ridiculous levels with some people.

So the Seahawks just won their first ever Super Bowl, and all you care about is getting respected?

I can't believe that even after winning the Super Bowl this fan base needs to validate itself...get a grip..the outside means nothing..

I don't mean to be redundant, but we really do need to let this "no respect" thing die. Not directing this at anyone in particular, but people that wish to continue to perpetuate this fallacy are really no better than the 9er whiner fans they likely bitch about. In fact, worse. The world is comparing us to some of the greatest teams to ever play this game, if you want MORE respect than that, you're likely SOL and will never be happy. Please enjoy the ride.

I respect your opinion, which I think is accurate.

However, the northwest looks for disrespect because it really has been a regional issue far beyond football, and Seattle players seem to thrive on the disrespect as well, so this angle is probably not going away. Ever.

People are so bitter and sour over not just Seahawks winning Super Bowl, but how they did it in such dominating fashion and destroyed their golden boy Peyton. All we heard was about Manning's legacy, record setting season, greatest offense in history. Seahawks are too young, inexperienced to win SB. I don't know how many people i've heard saying what boring game it was, how no-one outside Seattle doesn't care. Typical eastern bias towards pacific northwest and haters. Different story if the shoe is on the other foot and their bragging rubbing it in everyone's face. I've never seen such poor sportsmanship and classlessness. They can't handle losing at all. I know Hawks will be contenders for several years and hope we're able to win multiple SB's. It's funny too how once Hawks became SB Champs media, celebrities and everyone suddenly want to talk to our team. Prior to that, they couldn't give a shit about them. I'm not surprised Hawks still aren't getting respect.

Calling this game boring is not east coast bias, it's called fact. I've said it over and over again, I enjoyed every last second of that game and wouldn't change a thing, but if it weren't the seahawks I would have been thoroughly disappointed in this game by half time.

We really need to get over this picking every little negative as if it's hatred. I've seen more great things said about us, and more wall to wall media coverage about us since Sunday. If I were any other team fan I'd be so tired of it I'd tune out the NFL for awhile.

It feels really good to not be a fan of one of the 31 teams who did not win the Super Bowl for a change. I'm usually one of those guys that starts tuning out the NFL right after the Super Bowl. It's been a blast and I've enjoyed it immensely this week. I recommend we do it more often :)

Life is what you make of it. When you look back to this time, do you want bitter memories of fans from other teams not respecting us or do you want to remember how you enjoyed every minute of this fabulous ride?

We won. Enjoy it! Go to ESPN, SI, NFL.com, Seahawks.com and enjoy all the positive coverage!

What's embarrassing is the media excoriating Manning and not his weak receivers and running back for being huge wusses while his the defensive backfield could've starred as the Nazis in Hogan's Heroes.

Seattle fans (who cry about no respect) have to get off that stage and exit left. Enough already. If we lost in the SB, understand but we WON and no one, not even Obama can take that away from us. Seattle has a location in history now and that will never be taken away. We have a trophy that will never be taken away. We have the best fans, the greatest city, owner, gm, coach, players, stadium and crab. Wait, crab? yes, we fly up from so california to watch our favorite team, in our favorite city that has the best crab ever. The only bummer, we have to return back to so cal but no choice YET!!!

Just save your breath. I thought with the SB win and wall to wall Hawks love from EVERY major media outlet would change some of the chicken littles in here. But alas, this is a hopeless cause.

I guess we're taking our cues from some of the players, we just love our righteous indignation......whether it's real or not matters none.

Sgt. Largent, it is ingrained into some of these peoples head so I agree with you. I know what our family feels and that is love and respect for the city and all that goes with it and I see from most fans, the same. Nothing will ever take that away. We have our championship and now we're looking for more. Love Seattle Love Seattle and hope someday to move back.

Objectively it was a pretty boring game though.
And you guys have had respect for ages; most of the media pegged you as SB favorites before the reg season even started.
You guys won it all. Enjoy that. Don't STILL try to be the underdogs.
A 9rs fan "Objective"?
It was boring for those who weren't on board with the Seahawks, and wanted Pey Pey to get his 2nd SB win.
XLVIII wouldn't have been one bit "Boring" if your 49rs were the ones trouncing Denver's asses, and you know it. :49ersmall:

I too have only been hearing the positives from the press, not that I care much, but everyone is respecting us. It's even laughable because you have guys like Chahida at ESPN who is lathering all over us now, and we all know how he truly felt before the SB. It's kind of embarrassing how much respect we are getting, if only because we know many of these pundits were predicting us to get blown out.

Sure some of the fans boards aren't, but even many of them are positive/jealous even of our win the other day. Being in the discussion with the 85 Bears etc is also great, and most articles are saying that as to the best season ever maybe it's another team (we are in the discussion), but what we did do was have the best defensive performance in the SB ever.

Super cool! Go Hawks!

I just figure the OP is like the conquering hero. He wants his pound of flesh and the sword of every enemy. Once he got that, he would want each conquered tribe to sacrifice a virgin in his name or face retribution. Absent that, he is feeling dis-respected.

I guess the team is just going to have to pick it up on the Lombardi production line or be labeled frauds.

I mean, the haters just lost the "Empty Trophy" case put down. This team isn't 100% perfect and now face the task of bringing back a team that reached its goals yet will be losing key parts due to the ever changing landscape in the NFL.

No respect? Couldn't disagree more, everyone is saying how great they played etc. In fact, many are saying they are one of the best defenses in history etc.

I've perused just about every other team message board and the overwhelming opinion from the NFC side is that Russell Wilson is just a game manager and that the Broncos choked more than they were beaten.

Really depends on the Board you're looking at. Certain fanbases absolutely loved the Defense, not shockingly the Ravens and the Steelers.
Patriots absolutely loved every second of it, because we gave them a leg up in the Manning v Brady Debate.

Baldinger and Matt Light absolutely loved the Defense. Matt Light went out of his way to credit the techinique of Chancellor and how violent the team is able to play while staying within the rules of hitting.

There was a lot of game manager talk for Wilson, but also a lot of people calling him a playmaker.

Niner fan is just jealous, and angry with the knowledge that they would have beaten the Broncs too.

Funny stuff
