Even a low budget back up?
Short answer is it could... There's more that goes into it other than simply UFA's signed vs UFA's lost. Including but not limited to if he makes the roster out of camp.

He can only cancel an UDFA loss that is the same tier.

If we have 1 Tier 1 (3rd round) , 3 tier 2 (4/5th round) losses and sign a tier 3 (6/7th round). We would lose nothing. You only would lose on the same tier of the players lost. However, we are not sure what tier our current losses are on yet.

I was kind of hoping we'd be going after Jalen Kilgore in the draft . Rodney hasn't participated in the turnover department last couple years.

ya, that video title is very misleading as its his career highlight not 2025. if you take notice of the QBs in that video like Russ on Denver most of the plays are years old. regardless, im fine with the signing for a depth piece.

If MM thinks he's a baller & can help the team, I'm all for it.
I don't see how anyone can question coach where it comes to our defense.
Wasn't questioning the addition. Just keeping expectations from fans in check. Sometimes those YouTube videos will fool you when all they show are his good plays from 3-4 years ago. I'm not so sure he starts over Okada, who looked good filling in last year. And im not so sure we're done adding safeties. Who knows, maybe Emmanwori fills that role. Lots of dust still to settle

Just another depth signing, but guy has potential to be more. I read that he was a favorite of Armani Perez, the assistant director of pro personnel. Perez has been pretty good at identifying defensive backs, so that's a good sign.

*Interesting factoid: Perez went to the same high school as Josh Jobe and Federico Maranges.

most people knew the Thorpe award winner and he started in the slot, he became good after witching to safety.

He got tons of attention just playing opposite Sauce Gardner too.

Go watch his tape
Any player can look like an all pro from their highlight reel. He looks good from the highlights which begs the question, why didn’t the Colts resign him? Not trying to be negative about him. Really curious as to what his downside might be.

We as Seahawks fans know what Woolens downside is but if Eagles fans watch his highlights reel they probably think they have the next Dick Sherman.

I hope this guy is a good fit to The Darkside. I just want to know:
why he was available?
Did the Colts not want him back?
Why did he lose his starting job the last two years?
