Intriguing signing. He was a surprise draft pick by the Colts in 2022, having been on no one's radar. But he was on Schneider's radar, having even been a top-30 pre-draft visit to the Seahawks.
Smart player with high measurables, including a 41 inch vertical jump (average among safeties is like 35"--Julian Love's was 36"). He was starting safety for the Colts in 2023, but has been a backup the last two years.
Versatile DB who has played FS, SS and CB.
Has good length, great movement, reaction skills and seems to have a high football IQ.
This signing has John's finger prints all over it.
1st of a handful I expect for the backfield, between free agency and the draft/udfa's etc. Outside of the starters, its pretty barren. Probably see a few guys come and go too until they decide on who they want to stick with.
