Levi Wentz UDFA WR released to make space.

Experienced dude who was drafted in
2015. Started several games for Chargers last year. Not much of a get, but looks like solid vet presence and backup.

He has played right guard but primarily at right tackle. Started like 10 games last year for San Diego.

Hopefully no player got hurt on the oline, to cause this move, but regardless, he is a nice pick up!

JS is always on the job, looking for talent. Let's see if he survives until camp.

Yo they got Bobby Hart? Damn did the Chargers release him? Nice!!!!! Great depth with tons of starting experience
He’s been on a series of one year contracts, since he left the Bengals, in 202, except for 2024, when I don’t believe he was on a roster at all.

Cheap insurance for us.

That guy was a disaster for the Bengals and Bills, but somewhat passable for the Chargers last year. Doesnt hurt to bring in depth, and he's hardly a lock to make the team, but if we need to depend on him, we're in trouble.

Chatty's summary on Hart below:

AreaAssessment
Pass ProtectionBelow average but occasionally competent
Run BlockingBelow average
ReliabilityMixed due to injuries
Value Relative to ExpectationsPositive
Long-Term Starter QualityNo
Emergency Backup QualityYes

Context
Hart wasn't expected to be a significant contributor entering the season. He began the year on the practice squad and was elevated because the Chargers' offensive line was devastated by injuries, particularly at tackle. He ultimately started multiple games at right tackle and became a stopgap solution rather than a planned starter.

The Good
When he first entered the lineup, he had some surprisingly solid performances.
In his first start against Miami, PFF charted him with 0 pressures allowed on 34 pass-blocking snaps, which was a remarkable result considering he had barely played meaningful NFL football in several years.
At one point during the season, local Chargers coverage noted that he was playing well enough to keep higher-paid veterans off the field.

The Not-So-Good
As the season progressed, the limitations became more apparent:
PFF graded him poorly in several games.
Against Miami, despite the team win, he later received a very low overall game grade (37.7).
He battled ankle and knee injuries, which further affected both his availability and effectiveness.
He was part of an offensive line group that struggled badly once injuries mounted across the roster.

What's the deal with Josh Jones??

Mike's presser comments were pretty clear... the reason Seattle signed Hart is because Jones is not practicing,,, and it's obvious that Mike is not happy with that... which means he blames Jones imo.

Could Jones have reported for OTAs and mandatory mini-camp totally out of shape?

From OTC.com... Josh Jones signed a one year, $4 million contract with the Seahawks. $3 million is guaranteed including a $1.5 million signing bonus.

When do the guarantees kick in?... after he makes the 53-man roster?... right?
