It's an improvement over last year, just not that much of one. We finished the 2023 season ranked 29th by Sharp Football Analysis and 28th by PFF.

There is potential for more improvement too. Connor Williams, when he is completely recovered from his ACL injury is likely to regain his previous form, where he was the second highest ranked center by PFF. Abe Lucas's return would help a lot. The guards are the weak link, but they might be helped by the line playing together over time. Except for Cross and Bradford, it's pretty much a whole new line and it will take some time for the line play to gel.

It's also offensive line coach Scott Huff's first year in the NFL. I'm sure he's still at the steep end of the learning curve and if he and Grubb can make adjustments and coach these guys up, we might see some more improvement as the year goes on.

How many games would this have to keep up before Scott Huff is no longer exempt of the criticism that most of our recent coordinators and position coaches have been routinely subject to?

Each of the OLinemen has some proven ability, though I question Bradford. Huff seems to have a bias against Haynes and the same issues repeat. At some point the responsibility for coaching these guys to improve needs to show up or and he should be the focus of criticism properly directed at him rather than the OC.

The O is being held back by weak OLine play.

Agreed. I am wrestling with the root of our weak line play problem being on our scout team or JS's draft philosophy. It's hard for me to accept that technique coaching would change that much from one line coach to another.
