Kirby to Yanks for Volpe and prospects.
Woo, Munoz, to Reds for India or De La Cruz.
Hancock and Castillo to A's for Rooker.
Gilbert and Castillo to Blue Jays for Vladdy.

If it looks insane it's supposed to be. You have to build a line up first. Nothing else to say. If you have 3 legit starters and a good line up that is better than 5 legit starters and a terrible line up. Ms fans may not like getting rid of pieces of this rotation but they're just gonna have to deal with it. I'd like to keep Gilbert, Kirby, and Miller the most . But you need another star (assuming Julio is a star) in the line up. Preferably in the infield. There's nothing in the infield. You need a legit shortstop or 2nd basement and another outfielder.

Put the pipe down. While the team should now be sellers, trading starters would be plain stupid.
I appreciate the effort, but I also appreciate the laugh.

The Mariners are stuck in a pickle some of the under performing position players are in multi year deals including Crawford ( a lead off hitter who is hitting .200 and an OBP of under .300 isnt getting it done). I am guessing Mariners ownership won’t want to eat contracts to make changes if they are paying a player they expect him to play

Kirby and JP to Yanks for Volpe and prospects.
Woo, Munoz, and JP to Reds for India or De La Cruz.
Hancock and Castillo to A's for Rooker.
Gilbert and Castillo to Blue Jays for Vladdy.
Woo, Hancock, and JP to Rockies for Tovar.
JP and Hancock to Nats for Garcia Jr.

You do realize that half of these guys are in the top 10 in all of MLB for strikeouts?

De La Cruz, 2nd most K's.
Tovar, 3rd most K's.
Rooker, 10th most K's.

De La Cruz and Tovar strikeout more than Teo, more than Cal, more than Julio. Rooker is only 2 behind Teo.

Just kinda surprised you'd want these guys because you seem to really hate the K's even if the player is otherwise very productive, like Teo.

I agree with this. I think at this point the M's have proven that it doesn't matter how good your rotation is if you have no offense. This just isn't working, and I don't think it's ever going to work with an offense this bad. I wouldn't trade Gilbert or Kirby, but I'd be willing to let any of the rest of them go for the right guy.

Edit to add: For me, Vladdy would be the right guy. So would De La Cruz, but the Reds would have to be out of their minds to be willing to deal him and I can't imagine they'd do that.

Yeah, trade some of the best pitchers in baseball, who are on low $ contracts, and many still on their rookie deals

If you want to get really good players, you generally have to give up either really good players or very highly rated prospects.

Would you prefer that they just keep doing what they've been doing?

Not young starters on low $ contracts and under control for years. Dumb.
Unless you're talking Woo or Miller, or maybe Hancock.
I prefer they get off their asses and add some guys who can actually hit. If it takes some prospects, so be it.

Starting pitching is VERY good on this team. Why in the world would you want to trade the one damn thing they are actually good at?

I specifically stated that I would not be willing to trade Gilbert or Kirby, but that I would be willing to trade any of the rest of them for the right guy. The right guy would have to be a proven game changing hitter like Vladdy.

Sure, that's another option. By all means, do that instead or as well.

I don't want them to trade away good young pitchers, but if that's what it takes to get a game changing hitter, I would be willing to do that.

Mariners acquire Randy Arozarena for two prospects, Aiden Smith and Brody Hopkins, and a player to be named later.

I would give up every prospect position player we have for some MLB all star talent.
(we cant develop position palyers only pitchers)
What good are they to us other than trade bait.
Give me Vladi and Bichette (to go with Arozerena) and a couple bull pen guys and they can have the lot of our position prospects.

The way they've been playing before the Chicago series? Absolutely. They were 8-20 in the previous 28 games, and can't score for shit.

I'm glad they made additions, but I'm gonna' go ahead and still think they miss playoffs. Hope to be wrong.
