I called it before the game that he was going to play as well or outplay Stafford. I'll take a victory lap lol
Took 3 sacks for 25 yard loss and no turnovers. I'm good with this stat.I think he has exorcised the ghosts and no longer an issue....true stud yesterday!
Yep. You certainly were. lolAs someone who has been very vocal about what I thought Sam needed to do to overcome the narrative, I do believe that this was exactly the game I wanted to see out of him. He wrote back a great big F YOU.
I never believed he was or wasn’t the QB that fails in the big NFL game. I was unconvinced either way, but with existing evidence suggesting that he might fall into the regular season wonder camp of QBs.
Nothing wrong with that. At one point in time, Manning, Stanford, and Brees all fell into that camp, and Allen increasingly looks like he belongs there, until they got their wheels under them and earned their reputation.
I do think that this game silences all but the most daft critics. He earned his new reputation last night, and should be able to secure it even further with a Lombardi.
Seeing him go toe to toe with one of the greatest QB-Coach duos ever, was all the evidence I needed. Kudos to those who did need to see him actually do this in a big game to believe.
I saw that segment, but there was still a lot of but, but, buts...in there. I remember at one point he said that the Rams probably should have kicked a FG instead of going for it on 4th down nearing the end of the game and close the game to within one. Right there was an admission that he still didn't trust Darnold to move the ball into FG range for the Hawks from their 35 yard line after the kickoff (because they would not let Sheed return a kickoff all day). What I was waiting to hear, I finally heard: Stephen A admitted that he was wrong about Sam Darnold.
I am very pleased with Sam's performance yesterday. He was far from perfect, but he didn't turn the ball over, an area where he's had problems recently. With this defense, he doesn't need to win games, just keep from losing them. I'm very confident in his ability to bring home a 2nd Lombari for this franchise.

Choose whatever term you like to describe his performance. As I said, I was very pleased.View attachment 78024
Zero Picks, too.

I'd say he was as close to perfect as one can get, imo.
