Not only did he get the "can't get it done in the big game" narrative off his back, there was also a narrative starting recently that had talking heads thinking that the team was holding him back and not trusting him. They let him cook last night, should nip that theory in the bud too.

This was definitely the game he needed. The game remained close against a dangerous opponent, he needed to make plays even from behind, he needed to keep the ball secure even under duress. He did all those things. This is the confidence booster he needed headed into the biggest game of the season. I don't know much about Darnold, but from what I'm seeing I like. Just focuses and no drama.

Pre game analysis from most folks on here, and national / social media.

"Just run the ball and don't let Sam make mistakes and Seahawks win."

WRONG analysis.

He needed to be the QB I thought he could be to win this game.

As someone who has been very vocal about what I thought Sam needed to do to overcome the narrative, I do believe that this was exactly the game I wanted to see out of him. He wrote back a great big F YOU.

I never believed he was or wasn’t the QB that fails in the big NFL game. I was unconvinced either way, but with existing evidence suggesting that he might fall into the regular season wonder camp of QBs.

Nothing wrong with that. At one point in time, Manning, Stanford, and Brees all fell into that camp, and Allen increasingly looks like he belongs there, until they got their wheels under them and earned their reputation.

I do think that this game silences all but the most daft critics. He earned his new reputation last night, and should be able to secure it even further with a Lombardi.

Seeing him go toe to toe with one of the greatest QB-Coach duos ever, was all the evidence I needed. Kudos to those who did need to see him actually do this in a big game to believe.

He has everyone in the organzation having his back, guy doesn't boast and passes credit along. Ultimate team mate and leader by what he does and how hard he works.

I am very pleased with Sam's performance yesterday. He was far from perfect, but he didn't turn the ball over, an area where he's had problems recently. With this defense, he doesn't need to win games, just keep from losing them. I'm very confident in his ability to bring home a 2nd Lombari for this franchise.

What I was waiting to hear, I finally heard: Stephen A admitted that he was wrong about Sam Darnold.
I saw that segment, but there was still a lot of but, but, buts...in there. I remember at one point he said that the Rams probably should have kicked a FG instead of going for it on 4th down nearing the end of the game and close the game to within one. Right there was an admission that he still didn't trust Darnold to move the ball into FG range for the Hawks from their 35 yard line after the kickoff (because they would not let Sheed return a kickoff all day).

He's ass.

Zero Picks, too.

69% Completion percentage

I'd say he was as close to perfect as one can get, imo.

Typical Stephen A. Made it about him. He gives him props, all while still taking shots. F that guy.
This has ALWAYS BEEN A FAKE NARRATIVE. ONE....PLAYOFF...GAME.

They wanted to CREATE something that didn't exist. Mainly because they wanted anyone BUT the Hawks. Ryan Clark can eat a bag of di*** too.

These are NOT "I was wrong" comments. It's EXCUSES for why they were WRONG.
