Russell Wilson - Love or Hate

At the end of the day, if Wilson is playing in his 3rd Superbowl this year, then I say potential future HOF. That could be true for many Seahawks if they keep winning like I think they will.

sometimes staying away from statistics is best. This is a prime example. Having watched every game n snap since RW has been our qb, it's pretty clear that he is terrible in the first quarter. Horrible decisions, low/high throws, missing open receivers, turnovers. if he fixes up this weakness of starting out extremely slow, this team will win ALL games with ease.

If anything what this shows it that the 2nd and 4th Qtrs are when Russell "Turns it On" both also having the 2 minute warning, where russell is most the time given the chance to run the offense himself, at which point (Look at green bay NFCCG ) magic happens.

Let's be honest, much of Russell success in 2:00 minute drives come from him doing some crazy stuff that has nothing to do with the play call, whether it's from Russ or Bevell

some of it is, but not as much as you think.

You were talking about how sad it is that Russ only has one HOF teammate- Lynch, and that all other elite QB's have multiple HOF team members.

I pointed out that Russ does indeed have several HOF teammates.

Considering how nice it is for Russ to have the one of the best defenses in the history of the NFL, I was surprised you glossed over it.

But then again, you honestly believe that some .net members would trade a SuperBowl win for Russ' departure.

Well......since Russ has the benefit of playing with one of the best defenses of all time, I would say its relevant to mention.

Russ doesnt have a ring right now without those HOF defensive teammates, so excluding them from your argument is misleading.

And again if you read I then added them as well. However again we are talking about QBs and the fact all the HOF QBS had HOF or near HOF talent around them on offense. Last I checked if having a HOF defense was all it took Trent Dilfer would be in the HOF and he is not. So thanks but the point still stands.

ahh forget facts go with my opinion eye test. LOL

If you understand the game you don't need stats to tell if a player is good, bad or exceptional, I guess the whole coaching staff breaks out the statistical sheet to tell them if a player is good, that Cable used Sweezy's defensive statistics to know he could be a good Guard, the intangibles in a game that a player has to compensate for as well as adapt to are all in a stats sheet?

Stats can validate what the eye can see, they rarely show what a player brings outside the box. That's why they have Scouts and player personnel guys, people that combine all of it. If you were just using statistics Russell Wilson would not be in the NFL, Statistics show that under 6 foot QB's don't succeed in the league.

Very well put and yet stats also can tell you a lot especially when you are not a trained expert like all of us, Stats can tell us what we see or think we see is not true. Point in case Wilson slow starts. As to the under 6 foot QB don't succeed first that is not a fact, as there have been very few under 6 foot QBs in the league. Also there have been some really good ones under 6 foot some are even in the HOF. There is not stats showing they cannot succeed only stats showing there have not been many because bigger is better. Stats can be used to support or contradict a stance. However the eye test is nothing more than opinion. The facts show he is very good in the 1st QTr over all. The eye test only remembers the bad starts, while the facts show there were more good starts than bad ones or the overall Qb rating would be worse. As to what a player brings outside the box, that is true, however we are talking about slow starts the stats can show if that is true or not and in this case it is not.

Agreed; it was a thing of beauty. I love Wilson for all that he brings every game, even if I get frustrated with him at times.

However, what if that one pass tonight had been an interception, or an overthrow on 3rd and short? Would people hate him?
