For you Russ critics (I joined that club when he left), was this what you were expecting? I’m being totally sincere here. Not knocking you at all. To the contrary, I’m a bit in awe of you.

I understand PCs system benefited Russ but, this fall off is unparalleled. I honestly thought this would be his best statistical season as he would be permitted to “cook”.
I didn’t translate that into wins as I believe in balance.

I recognized his deficiencies here but…SHEESHUS H.

Did anyone predict it would be this bad? If so, why? Lack of spreading the ball, check downs, etc.? Even with that being evident here, he was usually proficient.

To think we’re benefiting from this like we are…Merry Xmas 12’s. This shits incredible.
I saw it coming tbh it was going to happen the older he got with all the sacks
and hits he takes from running.
HIS game depends on legs moving a lot to create..He's not ever going to be a
pocket QB.
You can read the post from years ago below..This was coming

I wasn't expecting anything like this year for Russ. Like others, I figured a better statistical year for Russ. What's happening to him now is insane. Like Franco Harris on the Seahawks insane, except that Russ was theoretically in his prime not at the end of his career.

Future-wise, he's going to have to do major damage control just to get his teammates in his corner next year. And I don't mean flying them to california to workout. I mean voluntarily ditching everything that separates him from the team - the offices, the staff etc etc. Or next year will be just as bad.

Hall of Fame? Forget about it. No one will look back when he is eligible without pointing to this year, and then they'll point out that he had the legion of boom during the super bowl runs. I think he could reverse that but it'll take MAJOR improvements next year.

What do you make out of holding the football to your mouth?
It's like one of those puppets they hold and do voices with.
He is very weird!

I read that it's because he's aware of the cameras and doesn't want anyone to lip read so he used the football to (somewhat) mask his mouth.

Always the showman...

Kurt Warner more or less called it while Russell was still a Seahawk, with his "Study Ball" breakdown. He chided Russell for not "take(ing) the layups", and pointed out how Russell ignored open receivers and was trying to "live in that world of being special all the time", instead of taking what the defense was giving him. Funny thing is some here accused Warner of being a "Wilson hater" because of those breakdowns.

I'd say Keasley45 here pretty much called it that Russell sucked here and Pete protected him. Keasley45 caused me to take an honest look at Russell's deficiencies, before the trade, with high-quality information, to cut through the BS. I was delighted to see the trade when it happened, and I figured Russ would suck in Denver, or at best be mediocre, but I had no idea he would suck THIS BAD. I don't know anyone who predicted Russell being this ridiculously bad. I'm sure loving it, though.

I saw him no better than his bad games last year because it became obvious that injury aside, his magic hat was empty. His game was solved the year before and what spark he had left was just about expired by the time he busted his finger against the Rams.
