Green Bay's lone 'highlight' in the running game (i.e. designed running plays, not scrambles by Vince Young on broken down pass plays) last night was Alex Green's 31 yard jaunt late in the game against Seattle's deep reserves. Excluding that one play, GB's running backs had 17 other carries for a net total of.......1 yard. Other than that play, GB's leading rusher was FB John Kuhn, who netted 3 yards on his lone carry.

That's some impressive run D.

Our reserve run defense has been good all preseason and I was pretty sure the 1s would look dominant as soon as McDaniel finally got in the games. McDaniel was the least hyped of our off-season acquisitions but may well play the most pivotal role. I really hope he doesn't get hurt.

Eddie Lacy was drafted with the pick right before Christine Michael at the end of the second.

I like the Packers and Ted Thompson, and I liked Lacy as a prospect, but my inner troll wants to see Lacy continue to struggle while Michael lights the world on fire, just so Packers fans can lament what could have been. Nothing against the Packers, I just love how PC/JS always seem to cause gnashing of teeth by other GMs after every draft.

I liked what I saw from the run defense, but keep in mind that GB was terrible running the football last year. Their leading rusher had like 483 yards. That's for a season folks.

We SHOULD crush teams like that. I'm glad we did. Now, if Rodgers plays an entire half, do we still have that good of a rush D ? I'm not sure, and it's one reason I was bummed to see Rodgers go out in 1 series.
