Howell had a first year OC without any NFL experience that called 12 pass plays out of the 19 total plays Howell was actually playing.
The OC didn’t make him hold onto the ball, throw potential INTs, miss wide open receivers and look like a spaz.
You can’t blame everything on the OC. An OC can absolutely make things better or worse but that doesn’t describe certain things.
He’s exactly the same guy that played at NC. He hasn’t progressed as a player. He doesn’t go through progressions, he’s a spaz in the pocket, he doesn’t see the whole field and tunnel visions.
Once again, copium. There is a reason that we’re courting Darnold rather than going with Howell.
As I said, I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t even on the roster come regular season. Reports of Howell in practice weren’t exactly glowing either, many calling him “alarmingly inaccurate” exactly what we saw against the packers.
All evidence is pointing to him being a JAG. He hasn’t excelled in practice or regular season.
Just because Geno Smith turned it around doesn’t mean just anyone can.
Howell is not our answer, he’s never been our answer.
