I'd be first in line to buy his jersey. Make it happen PC/JS

Guys we'd lose:
Mebane 5.7 million
McDaniel 3.6 million
Carpenter (expected 3 million)
Zach Miller 3 million
That's 15.3m there. Figures taken from Davis Hsu's cap 2015 breakdown.
This still allows for:
Extending Wilson
Extending Sweezy
Extending Wagner
Resigning Kearse
Resigning Moeaki
Expected sign of UFA DT (2m)
It's not as far fetched as one might assume. It would require drafting replacements for Mebane, Carpenter and Miller. One could also not sign a UFA DT (since Suh would be part of that), and keep Miller and find 1m elsewhere (perhaps lose Kearse).
Thing is, at #31, we should easily be able to replace Carpenter. There will be great day one starter OG talent available at that point. Additionally, at #62, we'll be in a great position to draft a run stuffer specialist to replace Mebane. This kind of move really isn't as far fetched as we might think it
Sounds like a sure-fire way to totally neglect the offense -- all for a flashy new toy for the already #1 ranked defense in the league.
If there is an impact player to be had on offense that would be as equally valuable -- I'd consider that too. Particularly if they fit the team.
And I believe you're underselling the impact. You're neglecting the offense (maybe) in order to elevate a generational defense into possibly the best unit ever assembled. This isn't merely a shiny toy. You're talking about adding the premiere interior 3 tech in -- well probably since Sapp. Suh is a difference maker. In every way Thomas and Sherman are. I don't see any Thomas or Sherman type UFAs out there on offense.

How about R Cobb, Julius or D. Thomas, or Dez. That's a pretty good list of offensive difference makers. Dez will get tagged if they can't reach a deal, but the others may not.
Suh wants to leave the city of Detroit and play for a historic defense? What a shocker. He can get in line. #seahawks

He can't go anywhere until the 2nd week of March.
I hear stuff like this every year, and it seems like hardly anyone loses out on a player because they couldn't match the money. I remember how the Redskins were in "cap hell" every offseason and still signed more guys to huge contracts (not that they're a model of how a franchise should be run, but I think there's a good lesson there nonetheless). There are always ways around it if your front office guys know their stuff.Cyrus12":11eg6v4r said:unless he gives a huge discount to try and win a SB this is not going to happen. Unless he took a 1 year deal and we didn't extend anyone...A pipe dream.

I was being sarcastic.
