We were a lock to be in the World Series this year though I thought…only 5 outs away last year. We have such a storied history of success it was a given…oh well. Darn it!

Well, one things for sure…after the year off from next years labor strike, we’re going to be in the mix for the WS for sure in 2028!

Here's my thing.. I don't like the term "unserious" or whatever the F it is... not serious whatever.. on paper.. we had great players, with a great farm, pulling up great farm players.... great bullpen depth, a stacked starting rotation...

Besides Id say like 10 Dan Wilson Blunders.. the rest of it is on... the players... Hit better..... period.... Play baseball... utilize the entire lineup which we have...

Frankly I hate the manager thing (though he has his doofus moments) He can't make these million dollar players hit... Thats on them

I went to game 1 and 3 of the series. I saw two different teams. Cal is clearly frustrated with lack of production. He tomahawked his bat into the ground after popping up a ball.

The team is definitely swinging for the fences when all they need is a hit. That said, they are getting more balls through the infield gap as the season is progressing.

This road trip will be very telling

I like how the posts above this one gave reasons why this franchise isn't serious. On 710 they were talking about how managers matter in baseball more than you think. And we all know Hawks don't win the bowl if Pete stayed.

Is Dan as bad as Pete was at the end?

Saw an interesting Julio stat during last night's game.

He has exactly two extra-base hits with runners in scoring position all year.
Yeah, he's near career averages in most offensive categories, but that seems abysmal from one of your core hitters.

Maybe it's more of a team thing? What is it with this squad and their lack of timely hitting? Seems pervasive.
Where did you see this stat btw.. he had 4 alone in may with 17 total extra base hits and 10 HRs.. his best month ever...June on the other hand... was balls

He has a total of 7 extra base hits with RISP and 17 hits with RISP (Still pretty low at a 250 average

Interesting. It was on the MLB channel broadcast. One of those tidbits they flash on the screen during a player's at bat. There is a chance I misquoted.

Pete at least has some coaching experience before he was hired so I believe Pete was better. Dan was hired because of the nostalgia he brought with fans and nothing more. Dan is terrible as a manager. Great guy and good player but he is in the bottom tier as a manager. In hindsight, Servais is much better than Dan.
