Releasing Jahri Evans......

This move still baffles me, granted he didn't look great, but would have provided a much needed veteran voice and presence.

What baffles me was making him a backup LG when he was a very good RG and Ifedi could slide into RT. Instead they put more faith into crap like Webb and Sowell and Gilliam. Cable gets away with a lot.
D linemen conversions to O line.
A TE to tackle to guard.
Another TE project at LT.
A tackle to guard to center.

Makes me wonder how Cable ever chose a wife? :sarcasm_off:

It's not that big of a stretch that Hershel could still play a bit, he claims he still runs a 4.3 40, at age 53!

That guy was always a freak of nature, and has never stopped working to maintain it.

I forget, can teams making the playoffs sign guys who were on teams that did not, and whose contracts have ended?

I think George Foreman is ready for another comeback...but this time in football. He's already mastered boxing.

Would it surprise you if Cable had in fact married a car?

No CJ Spiller? Adds a return element as well.

He was on the roster for a few weeks, doubt they'd need to work him out.

I know this is a RB thread but OL goes hand in hand. You see the roster churn on the skills positions - TE, WR, RB but nothing on the OL spots. I wonder why they are not doing this? It would be logical to look at OL guys each week to see if one could actually block and be an upgrade...at least provide depth or competition, if nothing else. Maybe that will get the guys you have to play better and focus on improvement.

I hear ya about the lousy play by most of the O-Line, and how they don't seem to be able to connect the dots..... I may well be on the wrong track here, but there's a lot of us folks clamoring to see a lot more from Jimmy Graham, and many of us are put off with seeing him seemingly misused as a Pass Blocker, and not a Pass Catcher.
Now, again, I could be mistaken, but wouldn't it make sense to free up JG and his Pass blocking duties by incorporating a RB or two that are sturdy built, that can run the ball AND BLOCK for passing downs?

So we need to draft a complete back to get the most out of JFG?
