You guys do know that Logan Gilbert led the league in innings pitched last year, right?
He has only had 4 starts this year, that's a pretty small sample size to condemn him after leading the league in innings pitched.

And oh yeay, Rowdy Tellez a foot short of a triple.
If Negron had a cheeseburger laying on the bag he would’ve made it. He probably would’ve skipped 2nd and 1st base but he would’ve made it to 3rd

Woo is very good with his Pitch counts vs Lomart
Lomart is supposed to be an ace right?
I guess my version of an ace isn't at 80-90 pitches
before the 5th but he does that a lot.
I love the guy but he has to do better on PCs - that is
my only issue with him.

Is your version of an ace a guy that led all of MLB in innings pitched, had the lowest WHIP in baseball, and had the 6th most K's? Because that sure sounds like an ace to me, and that's what Logan did last season.

You don't lead the league in innings pitched if you're regularly at 80-90 pitches before the 5th. You have to generally be pretty efficient with your pitch count to do that.

Yeah if a dude pitches 200 innings he's doing something right. It was more common in the steroid era (pitchers were on the juice too) and really any other era of baseball the pitchers did not throw as hard or have such nasty stuff. So sadly I don't think Logan is going to reach 200 innings many times in his career. The time is now when you're in your mid to late 20s. He could do it again this year. Eventually these studs are going to need Tommy John. All of them throw 95+.

Even "aces" have bad days. One thing that make them an ace is that even on a bad day they can usually navigate the batting order 2-3 times and go 5 innings without giving up a ton of runs, which is what Gilbert did the other day. While struggling a bit, he held them to minimal runs, allowing the offense time to catch up and setting up the bullpen to cover the back end of the game. 🤷‍♂️

Yup. "You gotta' get to him early" applies to just about any great pitcher in the history of baseball. Sometimes it just takes an inning or two for them to lock it in. It's nothing new, nothing different.

Until they actually when their division every criticism throughout the season is warranted. We are Mariner fans. Until it actually happens prepare to hear it. Funny thing is Ms fanbase is actually pretty soft compared to other teams.
VERY soft. If you don't make endless excuses for this franchise being being perennially mediocre, you aren't a real fan for some strange reason. Still the ONLY franchise to have NEVER sniffed a World Series appearance.
