We are in jeopardy of losing the Vedder Cup. If that isn’t enough to get people on board with firing Dan Wilson, I don’t know what will be

Dan isn't getting fired anytime soon. This team just got closer than it's ever been to the WS with Dan as the manager just 6 months ago. He's certainly not getting fired over the Vedder cup in mid April, lol.

Ouch, what a kick in the gut. Extremely frustrating season so far. Several one run losses. Fingers crossed we're not looking back at April if this team misses the playoffs. This is at least the 6th one run loss. Shoot, win even 3 of these close games and you're sitting in first place. Not sure what's wrong with Munoz, but he has looked horrible this year. Was hoping Dan would get him out of there a lot sooner. Sometimes, as a manager, you gotta' know when a guy just doesn't have it that day. Brash would have been able to clean that mess up, imo. I'm not saying fire Dan, but I just have a hard time being confident in him as our manager, that's all.
Especially at the end of games. That all being said, he can't pitch, hit and field for these guys.
Let's salvage at least one W today.

At some point, the Manager has to just know that a guy just doesn't have it that night. After a few batters, he needs to put Brash in there. Munoz is VERY good when he's on. But......when you get Wild Munoz, get him out of there. A lot of closers are like that, not just him. And I'm NOT saying this is all on Dan, not at all. The players are the ones who have to get the job done.

Once he goes in, he has to face 3 batters minimum, unless you fake an injury. 🤷‍♂️

Yep, just surprised he didn't come out after his minimum. Oh well. It certainly didn't help that Julio had another HR robbed. That's 2 runs off the board. That 9th last night was a trip; it's not like the Padres were blasting the ball. Just some incredible luck really.

Munoz was left in to face 7 hitters and he was awfully inefficient and ineffective from the start. Even if you want to give Munoz a very long leash, he was still left in too long. At the very least he should have been pulled after the lineup turned over. He had already faced 6 hitters and thrown close to 30 pitches at that point and was still in a jam, yet he was still left in to give up yet another run before he was finally pulled.

I kind of get wanting to give him a chance to work his way out of it, but that went on way too long.

I suspect many of us were yelling at the tv "Get him out of there"
He's a VERY good closer when he's on, almost unhittable. But he just didn't have it last night. You have a very good Brash available, get him out of there. Every pitcher has days where they just don't have it. Overall, I'm wondering what the heck is going on with him.

Been a strange season so far. A team known for winning a lot of close games is doing the exact opposite so far.

Scott never took us as very far, but Dan did, I don't understand the
Dan hate, he knows what he's doing, I suspect he left Munoz in there
to sort it out by taking his lumps and forcing him to be better next time.
This is all on the players in every aspect, they all have jobs to do, firing
Dan would be stupid at this point.

They never gave Scott players like Josh Naylor. If Scott had Dan’s roster from last season, I’d assume they would’ve done the same

This I agree with. Scott usually had maybe 2 or 3 good hitters to work with and then a bunch a mediocre to average JAGs to fill out the other 6 or 7 spots in the lineup. The few times he was given better players, he won 88-90 games (just like Dan last year).

Four straight singles in the 6th. Julio part of that and actually hitting .308 in the last seven games, good to see.

Dan Wilson i think has been Drinking.. 7 hitter munoz .. now taking out our BEST hitter currently to put Joe in... because of a same side matchup? JFC... If hitting against someone on the same side doesn't work.. you belong in AAA
