Well with the trade deadline now almost here and the fact that we didn’t give up a ton makes me think Tampa was likely holding out for a better offer. I mean what incentive does Tampa have to not wait and hope for a better offer closer to the deadline?

The Rays didn't want to trade Arozarena until they had to. Arozarena is a quality bat and a fan favorite in Tampa. He also comes at a reasonable price and is under club control for a couple more years.

The Rays were waiting to see if they could stay in contention before they blew things up. The problem with Tampa is that they still have a winning record, but play in a tough division and have no financial ability to be buyers to improve their roster at the trade deadline.

I don't understand the fascination with Chisholm, he's a career .246 hitter. In T-Mobile Park that .246 equates to under .200.

Chisholm is a head case that only a team with strong leadership would trade for, the Mariners do not have that
