Well with the trade deadline now almost here and the fact that we didn’t give up a ton makes me think Tampa was likely holding out for a better offer. I mean what incentive does Tampa have to not wait and hope for a better offer closer to the deadline?The question I have is could this trade have been made earlier? Is this something we'll never quite know?
The Rays didn't want to trade Arozarena until they had to. Arozarena is a quality bat and a fan favorite in Tampa.
