I 100% agree. Schaub and Johnson might play out of their minds, but Schaub has come up really short in big games. However, JJ Watt is going to be a handful. I expect a number of rollouts to the other side of the field for Wilson to avoid those big mitts.

Schaub and Johnson are probably the least of our worries this time around. What a difference 4 years makes...last time around Johnson destroyed us.

In this game, Watt and Arian Foster will be public enemies #1 and #2, for my two cents. Our run defense showed a lot of cracks last season, and this will be an early major test to see if it's improved.

And keeping that animal Watt off of our beloved Wilson is extremely critical for the offense. I'd literally audible away from him on every play, but that's why I am not an offensive coordinator in the NFL.

FAN = Fanatic. So many seem to forget that.

I look forward to the meltdowns!

Yup, when it comes to the Texans, it's whether or not we can stop the Foster/Tate 1-2 punch. Johnson is turning into Anquan Boldin with every passing year, so he doesn't scare me as much, though he will still kill teams with tough catches where he bodies guys out.

Schaub's arm is kinda noodle-like, though, which is good for our guys. He can't really kill us with the deep ball.

On defense, Watt and their cover corners worry me. They have a solid secondary.

Well, hyperbole is pretty high up there at least.
Hans, can we get a diagnosis here? Possibly an inferiority complex revealing itself?

Definitely losing to the Panthers. I think a vast majority of the fan base has that one inked as a "W" in their season predictions.

Going to be a tough game. Panthers got a lot better last season after we barely beat them... on the road, in the humid heat of the Carolinas in September, 10 am Pacific time, the week 1 anomalies that seem to occur every year .... the usual suspects.

I think we will be itching to make a statement and will win, but that's one of those games could see melting the board down if we lose.

:13: Wouldn't surprise me in the least. Then again....we could come roaring back in the 4th QTR and just beat them with a field goal.

Honestly, a loss to the Panthers, while not catastrophic from a season standings viewpoint by any stretch, would hurt the fans greatly. We have been inundated with such hype for months, losing to an inferior team, regardless of being on their turf, would hurt the collective psyche of NET Nation, no question.

Panther's loss...

Expectations are so high they sit atop Mt. Everest. Any slip will be disastrous. A Panther's loss would have some not simply slipping, but diving off the mountain and straight into the deepest part of the Grand Canyon. For others it will simply start an avalanche, picking up all kinds of negativity and accusations along the way.

Come the following Sunday, some at base camp will be under piles of "angsty wench" type snow. Should that happen, our saving grace will be a 49'er scarf wearing St. Bernard carrying a barrell of Harbaugh whiskey under its slobbering jowls. One taste of that nasty action will have our meldown victims warmed up on the insides so much so they'll be breathing fire by Sunday night, and hurling snowballs at their televisions and from every level of the Clink aiming for anything wearing red and gold!

May God save us all from such a calamity...

I find the above submission to be a lucid and well-thought-out post, and I enjoyed reading it thoroughly. I award full points for content, structure, and excellent use of vocabulary.

Snakeeyes007, you will post more, from now on, so that I may again be refreshed by your originality.

That is all.

I thought the first meltdown was the Harvin injury, so I voted other. But in the sense of the so gloomy you want to pluck your eyes out from all the "Fire xxx, bench yyy, we stink and I told you" posts, I would say a loss in week #2 to the 9ers. As much smack talk that has been going on regarding our division rival from the south, if things go bad week 2, Oh boy.

Whenever the meltdown happens I am sure the same suoerfans will be on thier soapbox telling us what bad fans we are for having said meltdown.

Having a meltdown when the 1-11 Tampa Bay Bucs kicked our eventual 5-11 asses in Seattle during the 2009 season- a situation like that was totally fine for having a meltdown. Heck, I'd even go so far as to say those who didn't have a meltdown probably should have.

But last year we heard more than a few people calling for Wilson's head after a loss and there were even a few "fire Carroll" posts. Granted, I don't think those fans knew we would end up 11-5, but if you know football, you knew the Seahawks were a really good team that was very close to putting it together even before the 2012 season started.

Fans of 11-5 teams shouldn't have meltdowns, period. Not only is it annoying and detrimental to the morale/tone of the fanbase, but it's looks super-lame from an outsider perspective. Nobody likes to see fans whine and complain about how their playoff team isn't super-duper awesome that week.

I expect that we'll have a few tough losses this year, and some fans will take it pretty hard. But I also think the kool-aid is very much flowing, so I don't think we'll see any out of proportion meltdowns like we had last season. For example, there was no meltdown after the Falcons game in the playoffs, which was a brutal loss. But if a meltdown does happen, and if someone questions Wilson or Pete at this point- their sanity needs checking. And just in case someone does, I'll be right here, soapbox at the ready.

I think at that point was the first time I've ever given up on a season, I was helping my friend move and not even THINKING about that game. That is how far Mora pushed me.
