Not really feeling this one. Looks slow and lumbering. Hope he's an exceptional blocker.

Slow and lumbering?

I'm guessing you haven't seen him chase down a dude after an INT huh?

Arroyo is the fastest TE in this draft class. He has hit 21.8 mph. He's probably the 2nd best route runner behind Loveland.

People are concerned about his knee and so am I. However, it's worth the risk for the upside. For what it's worth, he was fully participating in Cam Ward's pro day. He was going full speed and making some very violent cuts. The knee seems fine to me.

I think you need to watch him more if you're calling him slow and lumbering.

He looks slow off the line. Lacks explosiveness.

This is based on eye test and scouting report:

The chase down was impressive though. High effort type of play. I can see him being used in seam routes and as a safety valve. I just don't think he warranted a second round pick, but hope to be proven wrong.

Dang, that almost looks fake. He looked faster than DK there.

DK hit 22.6 on the Baker rundown and Arroyo has hit 21.8. Wonder if they had the above rundown measured?

Like I said...

Watch him more. Do your own homework.
Yeah his film just doesn't pop off to me. Looks mid. Here's another scouting report from SI:

Unless he's the next George Kittle, there were better options in round 2.

That scouting report comes from people who have watched him a great deal more than you have, trust me. I do see the slow-off-the-line thing in his tape, and the fact that multiple reports agree on it is pretty telling.

That said, there's nothing in the negatives (other than injury) that can't be addressed with training and coaching. Like someone said earlier, too fast downfield for LB's and too big for DB's. He could be a first-down magnet like Kelce and Gronk if his knees pan out.

The draft was fine. We don't need to spin every pick into something unsupported by reality in order to make ourselves feel better over the offseason.

Which Sammy D NEEDS so it's a good pick even if you're not impressed with his speed.

If that's what you see then that's what you see.

We'll just agree to disagree.

You know who else is as happy as Arroyo right now? Sam Darnold.

Remember all that talk about how Sam has no one to throw to after DK and Lockett left?

Now all of a sudden he has bunch to throw to including this beast.

Loved listening to Daniel Jeremiah talk about him. THAT is a guy that I trust for his opinion. Esp. since he was an NFL Scout.
They went on and on about how much of a steal this guy is.
I'm gonna' go ahead and trust his opinion over a fan opinion because they've just decided he's not a good player and/or pick. That's just me.
As always, give the kid a chance. The whining over picks isn't as bad as I expected overall, but damn, some of it is hilarious. Crazy assumptions over players that likely people don't even know much about. Just odd, to me.

True, but we also don't have to downplay every pick because they don't pick you YOU wanted. It goes both ways. Some feel better, some don't, some are on the fence. Cool.
