Has there ever been a better offseason for addressing the Tight End position? Both the draft and free agency are loaded with quality options at Tight End, including guys who play more of the "Joker" role and guys who are more well rounded with their blocking skills. The Hawks could definitely use another TE on the roster after Evan Moore didn't do squat.

For free agency, I picked 3 guys that seem like the most viable Seahawk options. All have tremendous potential but have yet to realize it for one reason or another, and therefore may be available for fairly reasonable free agent deals.

Davis has the USC connection and looked ready to have a huge year til he got hurt last year. Keller is ultra athletic and not much of a blocker, but has great receiving skills. He had a down year as part of the NY Jets disaster, but I think he could put up great numbers in a real NFL offense. Cook is an athletic freak with unlimited potential, but the targets just have not been there for him and he probably also just needs to get into a better offense for his skills.

And then there is the draft...so deep! There are at least 6 guys who look ready to make a big impact as rookies. I did not include any in the poll, but I'd imagine some would prefer we don't mess with the free agents.

Personally, I'd be pretty excited about giving any of those free agents a shot but my choice would be Cook. 2 TE sets with Cook and Miller would provide the Hawks with scary size and playcalling versatility. He is a huge target and I am sure Wilson would love throwing to him.

I'd go after Jared Cook. He's had a couple good year sof production, is 25 and could be our 2nd/ 3rd TE option and I don't think he'd be ridiculously expensive.

Cook would be a pretty big upgrade over McCoy imo. I would love to see two TE sets with Miller and Cook

Fred Davis for me think he's the best receiver of the group and being a Trojan never hurts.

none of those guys are good enough to warrant giving any significant contract too. Mccoy isn't as good as them but he's also way cheaper and they aren't THAT much better. There are also some great TE's in this draft worth considering with one of our first two picks if we really want another one.

I have no idea what kinds of contracts they will be demanding but they are those borderline "could be someones starting TE" type guys. Is our need that big? Mccoy has the dropsies at times, he also has a knack for getting open for big plays at times too.

That being said if I had to pick one, I would pick Keller. lets not forget what team he's on and who's been throwing him the ball. And yet he still looks like a decent TE.

I didn't even know Keller was a FA. My hope was for Cook but I'd be cool with either one. I don't think they would be all too expensive and I think we can spend our 1st and 2rd round picks on WR and LB if we handle TE in FA. However, signing a DT, DE or both in FA takes priority over a FA TE. If getting Cook blocks us from getting a strong DT or DE then I say go with a TE in the draft.

If all 3 are available, I think the Hawks go after Davis.

I hope they would go after Cook.

Cook is a freak, and I mean in a good way. Huge, athletic dude. He's shown flashes of greatness at TEN but it seems like they chronically under utilized him (or maybe just inconsistent QB play), which translates into sweet VALUE. Seriously my number 1 FA target. Praying we take a hard look at him.

I completely disagree. COOK is WAY better than what we've got as a receiving threat-- and I like Miller and McCoy

2010- 29 catches, 361 yards, 12.4 avg, 1 TD (2nd year in NFL)
2011- 49 catches, 759 yards, 15.5 avg, 3 TD
2012- 44 catches, 523 yards, 11.9 avg, 4 TD's

Anthony McCoy= 18 catches, 291 yards, 16.2 avg, 3 TD's

Delanie Walker I think is completely over rated on here- 21 catches, 344 yards, 16.4, 3 TD's. That's Anthony McCoy Production and I'd say blocking is a scratch between the two.
Then again it sounds like there's some good options in the draft. Obviously if we could get a cook for a good deal I think it would be a great move.

It would instantly upgrade the TE position, with those 3 in the fold.

Remember....our team does not throw the ball as much as most in the NFL. Our TE's and WR's are not going to have the numbers that they would have with other teams. We just need "sure hands" and good blocking skills.

I say none, anyone see what Miller makes NEXT year? Homie is about to get paid unless they restructure this offseason. I expect a rookie to come in and compete with McCoy for that number 2 spot.

None of the above I want Delanie Walker from the 49ers!

I was about to write the exact same thing.
Perfect fit, verstitle player.

How is he a perfect fit? He's basically a more athletic version of Michael Robinson (though M-Rob's a better blocker)

He's not a big target, he's an H-back. I don't see the fit personally. We need some size and athleticism. IMO Jared Cook is that guy and it's not even close. He's more athletic than Walker and a better target.
