Should have put Walker in the poll, sorry about that.

I personally am not interested in him compared to the other 3 because of the reasons stated above and especially because of his lack of size, but I can see the appeal in some ways.

I think Keller would be the easiest to obtain, the Jets are in cap hell so bidding won't be too crazy and he has played pretty well with a crap QB, he could be a lot better than his stats indicate and in Seattle he wouldn't be the inline blocking TE but the stretch joker TE. I don't think they would go away from the H-Back types though and probably want a Walker type of TE.

none of those guys are good enough to warrant giving any significant contract too. Mccoy isn't as good as them but he's also way cheaper and they aren't THAT much better. There are also some great TE's in this draft worth considering with one of our first two picks if we really want another one.

I have no idea what kinds of contracts they will be demanding but they are those borderline "could be someones starting TE" type guys. Is our need that big? Mccoy has the dropsies at times, he also has a knack for getting open for big plays at times too.

That being said if I had to pick one, I would pick Keller. lets not forget what team he's on and who's been throwing him the ball. And yet he still looks like a decent TE.

I completely disagree. COOK is WAY better than what we've got as a receiving threat-- and I like Miller and McCoy

2010- 29 catches, 361 yards, 12.4 avg, 1 TD (2nd year in NFL)
2011- 49 catches, 759 yards, 15.5 avg, 3 TD
2012- 44 catches, 523 yards, 11.9 avg, 4 TD's

Anthony McCoy= 18 catches, 291 yards, 16.2 avg, 3 TD's

Delanie Walker I think is completely over rated on here- 21 catches, 344 yards, 16.4, 3 TD's. That's Anthony McCoy Production and I'd say blocking is a scratch between the two.
Then again it sounds like there's some good options in the draft. Obviously if we could get a cook for a good deal I think it would be a great move.

Remember....our team does not throw the ball as much as most in the NFL. Our TE's and WR's are not going to have the numbers that they would have with other teams. We just need "sure hands" and good blocking skills.

The big plus with Walker is he is a great H-Back type of TE and could line up in the full-back spot with McCoy and Miller on the line creating a match-up problem for teams when Rice, Wilson, Lynch, plus the other 3 line up. Is it a run? a Pass? oh crap, option! That's the benefit the others won't add and it works because Walker is a smaller TE but he won't be a total loss if you need him to play TE on the line, even though we have Robinson who I love as our fullback, Walker offers some unique things that make the offense more dynamic.

According to PFT Cook is getting franchised so it's a moot point.

Look to the draft, it's what this front office is best at anyways.

Keller is the better receiver of the group according to football outsiders. His speed creates a mismatch issue as well.

Of the FA he's the best option of the 3 listed above in terms of likely availability, cost , etc., and how he might fit with our scheme. In the draft for me it'd be Jordan Reed as he fits the needs for a move type TE best.
