However, I wouldn't be surprised if they peak early then decline at the end of the season.
Just like Peyton's arm will do again.

I've got no problem with Denver taking the top spot in any ranking out there. Their defense has looked solid, if not spectacular, without Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil, and their offense is the best in the league.

They're essentially our polar opposites.

I dont mind it either, but I also feel that Denver just is able to look so good cause they play crap teams all the time. The Giants and Ravens have looked like utter horse poo this year. Eli has thrown 7 picks. Ravens barely, and I mean barely, squeeked by the Browns. And the 2 teams combined still put 50 on the broncos. I will wait for true judgement when Devenr plays a worthwhile team.

Carolina just lost to the Bills and a rookie QB in his 2nd start. The BIlls look to be an average to above average team. We didn't look all that great against them.

Our OL is bad enough, with Okung out, to keep us out of the top spot, IMO.

Theres a line from the original movie Red dawn "Two toughest kids on the block, sooner or later they’re going to fight”. That's what this is building towards. Classic Immovable object VS Irresistible force scenario!

I'll take the Hawks in a heartbeat!

I think we could beat Denver head to head. They are very good but we are built to shut a team like that down. They are also one Manning injury away from being a mediocre team. Their defense is decent but looks great because teams are always trying to play catch-up and giving them opportunities.

This isn't a 'bag on Denver, we are so good" post and I agree that they should be #1 until we can get our offense going. Just saying, I would put my money on the Hawks.

However both teams were my pick to be the teams in the Superbowl and I hope that happens. I would love to see possibly the best QB in the history of the game go up against what might be the best secondary in the history of the game, in the biggest game. That would be freaking epic. It doesn't hurt to have the Wilson V. Manning storyline after wilson matched his rookie TD record, and certainly doesn't hurt that we formerly had a long history of Bronco-busting going down in the old AFC West.

I want that matchup so bad.

Oh hell yeah.

Their next 4 games are Raiders, Eagles, Cowboys, Jags....
Easiest schedule in the NFL. I wouldn't be surprised if they go 15-1 and barely surprised if they go 16-0.

Looking at their schedule neither one of those records would surprise me either as long as Manning stays healthy.

Seattle is #2 behind Denver in the DVOA rankings. Denver's DVOA score is off the charts right now.

Surprisingly, Seattle's defensive DVOA is also #2- behind Kansas City. Playing Jacksonville in a 2 week schedule does wonders. Now it's our turn to pad our defensive numbers.

Wow, just looked at their schedule. They probably bungle a game or two, but they should coast to home field advantage.

I can see Denver as #1 after what they have done. I can also see Seattle being there after pummeling the previous top ranked team. Thankfully, it is all meaningless outside of a fun fan argument starter.

Denver literally does not face a challenge in the regular season all year. It pisses me off. The Ravens with losing Pitta and such are pitiful, they nearly lost to the Browns, etc.

Challenging games for the Broncos were SUPPOSED to be against the Ravens, maybe Redskins, the Patriots, and the Texans. Instead, the Texans are 2-0 by the skin of their teeth against mediocrity, the Foreskins are bad because RGKnee won't plant and their defense looks like Jacksonville's, and Tom Brady has pizza delivery boys and gas station attendants to throw to.

UGH. The Broncos should feel embarrassed at anything less than a 15-1 record in the regular season this year. They're not even going to see a respectable defense until they hit the playoffs if the Texans D doesn't improve. Talk about unfair. These scrubs will smoke the regular season then lose in their first playoff game this year, or in their second one at most because they aren't even going to see real competition until January. I'm going to laugh my ass off at my Broncos friends when that happens. Check out the Broncos 2013 schedule.

Seriously, they should feel humiliated if they go 13-3. Talk about a great year to get the Patriots on your schedule. Even better than when Brady went down and Cassel played the whole year.

Yea, its a bs schedule. I dont even know who in the AFC I would pick to win in the Divisional round against them to be honest. Ravens, go Ray Lewis Feels, came out of no where last year, and the Patriots were their usual hot self, except for Ray Lewis Retirement Extravaganza went bonkers. This year, I just dont know who in the AFC is even a threat to them in the Divisional if its at Mile High at 4-6 seed.

Yes they are lucky they get to play the easiest NFC and AFC divisions. But, for anyone else, going on the road to play the Patriots and Texans would be a challenge. I think you have to give credit for Denver being so much better than their opponents that they don't present much of a challenge.

Sorry, but this year, the Patriots and the Texans are suspect until proven otherwise.

Well, lets get a little context next time. Since we know they dont play during the season, I came to only one conclusion.

Denver can go 16-0 or 12-4 and still probably have the seed to be playing in Denver for the AFCCG. Record won't matter, we all know it's about Manning in the winter. If we meet them in NJ, regular season doesn't mean a bit so there's no use sweating their schedule.

I can see the Chiefs potentially beating Denver in Arrowhead. Right now, they're about the only legitimate defense in the AFC.

Denver deserves the #1 IMO, until our offense gets on track and catches up with the D, we don't deserve the #1.

I do have a problem with BAL at #6 though, how are they a top ten team?
