PFF has no idea what assignments lineman are supposed to have or how successful they are with that assignment. They assign grades somewhat arbitrarily. This is actually true of multiple positions (like a couple of years ago when Williams gave up 2 TDs in one game, he admitted they were both is fault, Pete said the same thing, and PFF gave Kam Chancellor a horrible score for giving those two plays up when they clearly weren't his fault).
What we do know are FACTS. For example Pocic has allowed three QB pressures in two games. That is a much much lower percentage than anybody else on the line this season (including Britt and it blows the doors off of Joeckel's pressure percentage).
So there is that.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dc-sports-bog/wp/2017/09/20/__trashed/?utm_term=.d3330064116aCollinsworth said the criticism has helped the company, that “by the time that you get beat up by GMs and players and coaches and fans and everybody when they think you’ve made a mistake, that hardens you. That makes you a better system.” His 350 employees, he said, “watch more plays of football than any coach in the NFL … because at some point, those coaches have to go out on the field and coach, and my guys are still in there watching film.”
His company has hired former NFL figures, including longtime assistant coach Gunther Cunningham, former Redskins lineman Will Montgomery, and former Redskins assistant Bobby Slowik, who since has returned to coaching. Analyses are checked and cross-checked and re-checked; Collinsworth said he has seen single plays debated for 15 minutes, and that “if there’s any ambiguity at all” on a particular play, analysts are told not to downgrade a player. Longtime Bengals offensive line coach Paul Alexander last season reviewed about 600 plays where PFF had downgraded one of his blockers; he told company founder Neil Hornsby that he disagreed with perhaps 12, “which is pretty remarkable,” Alexander said.

Joeckel is still the better player when healthy at LG. So Cable got it right, at least at that position. There's still the argument that Pocic should have been the starter at RG all season though...
It still took 11 games to figure out his best players.
As far as Joeckel > Pocic....you know this how?
PFF so far this season:
Joeckel: 47.9
Pocic: 33.7

That only took 11 games (including pre season) for you to figure out.
Cable is so predictable, I called this in pre season (5 games minimum for him to figure out his best players).
Once again, better late than never. Too bad it took an injury for him to stumble upon this wealth of talent evaluation.
I wonder how the competition between Brown and Odhiambo is going?

It didn't take anyone 11 weeks. The comp was between Glow and Ethan and it was essentially one week.

Joeckel won the job early and it only took about a week to determine between two players who would replace him after he had surgery,
I meant next season, he probably wont be getting resigned.mikeak":3rdal31v said:RussB":3rdal31v said:Knew hed get it. I was impressed with him. I think Joekel will be gone now hes getting paid too much.
No significant saving in cutting him
We can achieve the same saving not dressing him and keep him on the roster as backup

I don't really think it's a stretch to say that it's a step up from "Pocic will be rotating with Mark Glowinski."
