Using Graham like NO did would have been the logical thing to do, or maybe ask Graham what plays was he most comfortable with. I think he was at his best running stick routes from the slot against zone defenses and just sit in a seam. It was the same thing I was hoping the Seahawks would have done when they tried Terrell Pryor as a receiver

There wasnt a star receiver in the league that could have done in Seattle what he did wherever he was.

Our offense wasnt one that utilized receivers within the context if a designed route. So Jimmy, even if he wasnt asked to block, would never have recreated the type of production he had in NO because he ran routes based on timing and predicted on qb and receiver understanding defensive concepts and how secondaries would play routes.

The passing game in seattle was a free for all, seldom running on predictable, repeatable, designed plays. He got a payday in Seattle. Everything else was a relative disappointment.

Guys like him, ADB, and even Tyler... they would have had very different (in better way) careers, had they played in an offense and with a QB eho could maximize the considerable talents they had.

Whoever made the decision to trade two first round picks PRIOR to having a long-term contract in place is the biggest one to blame for this disaster of a trade. I negotiate for a living and know that you lose all leverage because the player and their agent are aware that you need to do whatever you can and pay whatever it takes to re-sign them or else you’ll look like a fool for making the trade if the player leaves in free agency. Absolutely, 100% a downright dumb and not well thought out transaction.
John Schneider did not learn his lesson from the Adams trade where Adam‘s agent had JS by the balls and Seattle had to pay Adams a Kings Ransom. Now John is potentially going to through the same thing with Ernest Jones. Jones agent knows that Seattle gave up decent compensation for him and that any good agent would do after their player plays. Well, ask for the moon, especially knowing Seattle gave up pics for him just a few months prior. John got lucky with Leonard Williams, but not with Adams and now probably not with Jones. Sure it’s not as egregious as the atoms situation because of the difference in compensation, but it’s still a Sure it’s not as egregious as the Adams situation because of the difference in compensation Seattle gave up but it’s still an issue.

As George W Bush once famously said: Fool me once shame on you fool me twice… you can’t get fooled again.

Is Everything
I can't wait for next season so we hopefully can stop comparing everything to the previous regime.

I'm always skeptical about a story that comes out years after the fact. Especially when John has publicly/visibly shown agitation about being questioned about the move and having to defend it.

Wasn't there a story that they wanted Adams back after he got cut by the Titans? If true..what on earth for?

Uh, not anything close to the Jamal Adams situation. We gave up two first round picks for Adams. We traded a 4th round pick and a linebacker we didn't want (Baker) for Jones. We're not heavily invested in Jones if he decides to walk and go elsewhere.

We got a chance to see how Jones fits into Macdonald's defense, and Jones got to see if he liked playing here. After not being wanted by two other teams in one year, I think Jones is going to be happy to get a reasonable deal in Seattle.

Hopefully they work out something mutually beneficial for both sides, but as much as I like Jones, he's not all-world, and we definitely shouldn't break the bank for him.

Don’t let his personal numbers fool you. His importance out there wasn’t just in what he did but how well he ran the play calling. Night and day once he got here.

I agree, but I hope Schneider doesn't overpay.

Depends what you consider overpaying. If you consider market value fair then I don’t think he will overpay. Sounds like they are asking for more than we think he can get. I’m ok with matching what he can get on the open market. Assuming some cap heavy team doesn’t just spend to spend and I don’t see that happening here.
