Is it just me, or are a lot of his highlights in Viking Whites, Plus the Purple's have a lot of White in em. My H.S. Coach use to say in his pregame away speech(" Damn you little pieces of $hi#, Look like the Biggest, meanest bunch of Bast@rd$ on this field today") Coaches could talk like that in the early to mid 70s:) Could pop you in the ear hole when you screwed the pooch too. White Jersey's make you look bigger, or so I was told?

Size doesn't always mean strength. I'm 43yrs old 5'11" and 175lbs. If you stood me next to Turbin and asked a hundred people who was stronger, all would pick Turbin due to his size. I've been powerlifting since Jr.high and have a 515lb bench press. If someone can help me post a video I'm sure some of you would say I'm skinny too.

He looks thinner than he did last year, but being bulky isn't his game.

He can run people over, but usually secondary guys. You're not going to see him tank a LB like Lynch will. Harvin's game is all about explosion. He gets instant separation. Losing 5 lbs or so of muscle mass won't change that much.

Lifting doesn't always mean strength. Good technique and specific physical attributes allow for people to "bench or squat" a lot more........ short armed, barrel chested guys for example have advantages over a guy with long arms when benching.

He doesn't not look as bulk as he did in a Viking uniform.

By the way I am a new poster here in North Carolina. I was at NC State when Russell was the quarterback and he is the most exciting player I ever watch play the game. Also, I am now a big fan of the Seahawks since the 2012 draft and can't wait for MNF!! Go Hawks!

Well I'm not short armed or barrel chested and I don't know how much technique gets 515 off my chest without strength. Anything over 405 on the bench is really, really strong and I don't care what "technique" you use to lift it.

I am pretty sure Percy Harvin bench pressed 405 lbs coming out of the University of Florida. Looking at his highlight video for the Minnesota Vikings, he looks like a RB playing WR in a good way. Almost similar body type as Robert Turbin and remember Percy ran over and through defenders while wearing purple.

Darren Sproles, etc. Lots of very small guys who are water bug quick who cause all kinds of issues for defenses. Low center of gravity and incredible lateral quickness give the defenses headaches. Get these guys in space with a head of steam and they're impossible to stop. They make dudes look silly in coverage.

The good thing is that he's built pretty stoutly even though he's small. He'll take a beating but hopefully his body will withstand it ok. I kind of liken guys like Harvin to Russell Wilson and they're hard to get a clean hit on. Of course, Harvin has a little beast mode in him though and he like to run through guys but hopefully he'll try to avoid contact a bit more since he's had the injury bug a lot lately.
And the appendix-tumor bug. :(

This is not a complaint just an observation. I was kind of surprised to see how small Harvin looked compared with the other players out there. Was anyone else thinking this too? Just thought with his resume I was expecting a more dominant looking physical presence.

He's not a dominating physical presence at all.

It's why he gets hurt so much.
And also maybe because he puts up the most total yards in the NFL.

Have it your way....if someone can contact Turbin and have him run full speed into Seahox I will be there to watch.

Short arms gives you more leverage. You have more of your arms under the weights. And in arm-wrestling, the short-armed opponent has a longer lever to turn.

Not really, he has never been a physically imposing WR; his uses his elusiveness, quickness and speed to scare people.

Yep, he's small in statue, but looms so very large on the football field that opposing defense coord. crap their pants when he is on the field.

Lets all sing together:

"Here we come, marching down the field,
playing as one, we will never yield.
Percy Harvin gets the ball,
don't look now, he just ran past you
and your saying WOW......... "!!!!!!
