And no, I'm not talking about the magic that is Russell Wilson outside the pocket.
Arizona blitzed, Wilson got rid of it to Willson for a big gain, also hit Miller short a few times.
WE HIT A SLANT!! Look at that! Hit a slant route, and Golden turned it into a big play after the catch. Been waiting over three years for that.
Wilson got man and threw a beautiful back shoulder throw to Kearse.
It doesn't always have to be magic. Get rid of the ball, get it into your playmaker's hands and let them do the work. It doesn't always have to be as difficult as we make it look.
The pass to Miller from his knees and Rice actually getting loose when Russell left the pocket were beautiful, and will be a part of Russell's game for a long time, but it was so nice to execute without Russell having to be magical. Build on this, get rid of the ball on time, make quicker decisions, WR's win routes, and a whole new level starts to open up. This is the stuff elite QB's and offenses do to become efficient. I get a rap of not being as high on Russell as everybody else is. I keep insisting that this couldn't be farther from the truth, I have just been waiting for him to take the next step before I could call him one of the best in the game. He took a step tonight.
Marshawn will reap the benefits as well. Makes me feel like Riverdancing.
