Was the 2nd game of a brutal two game road trip, 2nd straight 10 am start, against a 3-1 Colts team with Reggie Wayne.
Seahawks also controlled much of this game but the Colts fought their way back from a 12-0 deficit on the luck of a blocked punt turned safety that could have been a Seahawks TD, a 5 point swing, of a blocked Seahawks FG that ended up a Colt's TD, a 10 point swing and a miscommunication between Sherman and Thomas that allowed Hilton to get an easy TD.
What could have been a 27-10 Seahawks halftime lead on the Colts was instead turned into19-17 shootout against two young QBs.
Then somewhere along the ways after the referees called Tate for a phantom OPI, they thought it would be fun to allow Colts WRs to push-off and/or flop to get drive extending flags some on key 3rd downs or 2pt conversions.
Or allow Seahawks WRs to be interfered with on instances that had more cause to be flagged than what we saw the Colts WRs endure to get the easy flag and the second wind.
Russell was short of a comeback in this game against the king of the comebacks, Luck (who played great considering everything) Seahawks fell 34-28.
This was a game the Seahawks could have very well won if the team didn't shoot themselves in the foot or the refs shoot them with some of the worst officiating I've ever seen, even worse than SBXL.
But again to only lose by 6 while squandering many opportunities, and being squandered out of some opportunities without Okung, Unger, Giacomini, Zach Miller and Michael Robinson clearing the way for Wilson and Lynch to do their thing. Was a testament to the depth and foundation on this team and the team's backbone to keep striving to win through the worst of adversities.
This season hasn't always been pretty or an easy road @CAR, @HOU, @STL, vs TB where those teams forced us into the ropes and took the momentum only to succumb to our never say never, play every second of every minute until the game is over attitude.
This season has shown the Seahawks have a resiliency to keep competing to win games even if they are getting dominated and fall into a big hole. They adjust, they fight back, they never give up...and they find a way to win... these are the types of teams that win championships... not the teams that blows an opponent out every game only to crumble once they face an adverse dilemma.
Whether or not some people think this could have been 12-0 team or is just a lucky 7-5 team (that I've seen opposing fans call us), I do know they are 11-1 and this team has everything it takes to bring a Lombardi to Seattle and I have the utmost confidence in them to believe they could do it whether if they were the 1st seed or the last seed.
