He's garbage. Yeah I'm sure everyone will want to give him more time, but it won't be enough. Coaches in this league have two years to show success or be fired. MM is headed fast towards getting fired. I know I've lost faith already.
Bull. Pete went 7-9 his first 2 years. Kyle Shanahan went 6-10 and 4-12. MM needs 2 years just to build up the trenches

A two-year grace period is fair.

Do the fans have a two-year grace period to give?

I get it. U love Mike.
I don’t get why people who wanted a new staff josentotu so ouch that you make this stuff personal.

But you keep making the point they wr screwed up because we let go of Pete and your main argument is the run game but then refuse to answer the question about the run defense under Pete?

I'm reading all these comments, and although y'all seem to be fighting each other, I think we're all saying the same thing, which is that at this point, we don't know what we've got. It's still too early to tell what Macdonald is going to be.

The fighting to me is just a battle of the optimists vs. the pessimists. And you both have valid points. Many great coaches (Carroll, Belichick) have taken a couple of years to turn things around. And yes, some have walked right in and gotten immediate results (DeMeco Ryans, taking Houston last year from 3-13-1 to the playoffs or Kevin O'Connell taking a losing team to 13-4 in his first year or Dan Quinn this year).

I'm just saying let's discuss this without letting this devolve into a dysfunctional .net screaming match because we all need to talk about it after the last three weeks. The pessimists need the optimists to give them some hope for the future. The optimists need the pessimists to help them take off the rose-colored glasses and see what's going on.

Good points. I said it before the season when some were freaking out about a first time HC. Every HC in the history of the league was a first time coach at some point. And many of them started out horrible. Including all-time great coaches. Tom Landry's first year as a HC: 0-11-1. Bill B: 6-10. Pete: 6-10. Chuck Noll: 1-13.
IT....TAKES....TIME......
Many "12s" (God I hate that term) are spoiled, whining babies. Probably like a lot of fan bases.

I have no issues with Mike. I think its funny the goalposts that have been moved is all.

No, my point has remained the same. I read here and on reddit and X about a new coach would lead this same roster to the playoffs and its because PC was old. I mean look when the Hawks were 3-0.

Now the goalposts have been moved. "The roster sucks and MM needs 2 years".

Well, which is it? Does the roster suck and PC did know ball to get 9 wins from them? Or is Pete too old and MM struggling?

IDC about Petes run d as he is not my coach with this team. I care about my coach who was labeled a genius and he would make us be better this yr then Pete.

Now it is "Roster sucks" and "PC fault as his roster" and "MM needs 2 years" and "MM cant run his defense because of this roster". However when you bring up how bad his run d was with balty the 2nd half of year, you hit me with "he was taking pass away".

Those are all excuses. The same ones Pete didnt get the last couple of years. I also dont need to worry about Petes legacy here or as a coach.

Lastly,

I want MM to be even better then PC. Why? Because Seahawks team>>>>>>coach or player. I just find goalpost moving funny is all.

The head coach should be judged by all the little details. Is he ******* up with time management, play calling, and game plan? Maybe. From there, is he learning and correcting those mistakes? If not, there's a problem.

Not enough sample size to judge yet. Time will tell, though. One whole seasons can give us a lot of data to judge. If he corrects things, shows promise, etc, over the course of a couple years, then you have to give him more time if the talent isn't there.

Shane: We’re 6 games in and you’re doing victory laps. We were essentially a .500 team or slightly better with Pete, an all time great the past few years as well. Give a rookie coach a little bit of time to settle in. We just lost to the two best teams in the NFC and had a chance to beat both with massive injuries to key players and that’s when you decide to say “look at how dumb everyone is!” With Pete we would be so much better off!

Of course people are going to not like that approach. I still think, like Sherman said, Macdonalds scheme stuff is just better than Pete’s was at the end. I don’t think he’s wrong and they will get better.

You seem to want to see him fail because being right is more important than being a fan of the team. Seems like a miserable way to go about it but you do you. What’s the plan? When Pete’s 80 will you still be pounding the table for him?

Did you post much after the 3-0 start or only when they lost the last 3? That seems to work against your claim that you want him to succeed. Maybe I’m wrong, I’ll check it out after a win.

The real winner in this Pete vs. Macdonald debate is Ken Norton Jr. With Norton, we had three top-15 scoring defenses in four seasons. We haven't had a top-25 scoring defense since he left.

I got fan checked? lol you got called out by others too. You’re a Pete fan and not a Seahawks fan. That’s cool but it seems weird you only come to the board when the Seahawks lose.
