Sounds about right. I expect our pass rush to be mostly anemic against decent or better O-lines. Low pressure rates and mostly coverage sacks, but I'd bet the run defense will be pretty good.
Last year our pressure rate was 8th in the league and I don't expect that it is going to be worse this year.

The only thing we don't have is a couple 350 lb dudes to clog up anyone's run game no matter the opponent
Now we have guys that play like it but the game against the quackers last year bothered me , and so did all the cheesedork fans next to us
Beyond that were golden but it's always been a , ( well how are their big heavies up the middle against ours ) as a gauge that kinda almost without fail predicted how well we were gonna do against the opponent
I just wish we'd have gotten a monster nose tackle , otherwise a+ off season

Hawkblogger podcast, Brady Henderson, Mike Salk seem to hint that we are working on trading for Trey Hendrickson. They keep bringing up the name so there could be something in that. Possibly with Woolen going the other way.

Our D was top ten last half of last season, and we won 6 of our last eight games. Anyone think we falling back to the first half of last season for any stretch of this year?
I think there could be times where they revert back to what they were prior to the new regime.

HOW? Grub is gone.
I thought this thread was about the defense ?

I don't expect the offense to start the season at the top of the league . Too many new coaches ,players , new offense to learn with the obvious growing pains that come with it.

I'll gladly be mistaken though

Oh. that's true.

I forgot this was about the Defense. 😳

But I thought the Defense was good all thing's considered last season.

Was it really piss-poor at one point?

Yeah brother .

They struggled through the first half of the season with Mike M scheme .
Because of the intricacies, there was a learning curve and it became obvious to coach and GM that something had to be done .

It was the linebackers .

Once they brought in Earnest Jones and started Tyrice Knight they were a top 10 defense the rest of the season

Rankings are not something I pay to much attention to.

Things I do see when I look at our line is rotation. Can keep the guys fresh. This is extremely important with some of our aging guys

Can our older guys play at the same level as last year? Or will there be a decline.

Rotation is the key

I fully expect Murphy to grow. Just don’t use him as a nose.

Speaking of nose tackles. Only have one true nose tackle and he is old.

We also have good rotation the OLB position. Hopefully they feed off each other with internal competition

I also recall reading Baltimore Raven fans here (or somewhere else on social media) to not worry about what was happening in the first half of the season. That there was a huge learning curve with this scheme, but once it starts clicking then watch out.

Great point . I remember reading or hearing the same thing. I distinctly remember watching MacDonald and the Ravens giving Seattle a special ass kicking in Baltimore . I remember only a handful of games in my years of watching the Seahawks play where I felt the was no way in hell Seattle had a chance to win .

This was one of them .

That Baltimore defense was sick AF
