Hey, I just heard that they are employing nano-bubbles technology to clean up the algae at the Washington Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool!

The resultant crystal clear water is reason alone to elevate Russell Wilson, and his contributions to the science of nano-bubbles, to the ring of honor.

It's going to be a long time, perhaps not in his lifetime, before Russell can return to Seattle for a ROH induction and not get booed loudly. Even if it's a relatively small percentage, say like 30-40%, the boos are going to make it sound like it's every fan in the stands. The fans who dislike him are going to be lots more passionate than those like me who are relatively neutral about him.

It's not going to be in the team's best interest for that to happen.
With the culture here, it's never gonna happen.

"Never" is a long time.

If the ROH is to maintain its credibility, they have no choice but to induct Russell Wilson. They don't necessarily have to make a formal presentation, but in some way, shape, or form, it needs to happen.

Absolutely. There is no way you can have a legitimate ROH and not have the greatest QB in Seahawk history, and the one who helped get them 2 NFC championshups -- and their first title.

Time heals many wounds. Russ will be given a ceremony and I suspect most fans will cheer him -- as they should. Sure there will be a few fans who will never let go of the bitterness, but they don't matter. They're just bitter people.

Just curious,
If we win a second SB with Sam,you will call him the greatest QB in Seahawk history
right?

I realize that you didn't pose that question to me, but I don't think it fair to use a hypothetical "if" disclaimer like that with regards to this discussion. Of course, at some point in the future, someone is going to come along and top Russell's resume for the best QB in Seahawk history, and it may very well be Sam Darnold, or for that matter, Jalen Milroe.

At this point in time, Russell Wilson is the best QB in Seahawk history. Period.

Couple of my opinions that no one needs to listen to:

Being the "best" doesn't DQ anyone ftom also being the "worst" when one describes on-field successes and the other describes off-field distractions. So...does "honor" in ring of honor describe one, or both?

To me, receiving picks in return for a player that forces his way out doesn't qualify as a + for the player. If JS wasnt/isn't such a BOSS, and a)dictate the trade, b)make the right picks and c) get MMac and other pieces, the entire situation results in a decade of Rams and 9r domination. Even putting the team in a situation where that's possible (probable) is pretty negative. That, without including the fact RCW wanted to stay and force Leadership out.

Can you imagine the team if RCW got his wish? Russ today, without JS? ...beating the Cards would be an underdog upset....

First, congrats on pulling up a 9 year old post. That alone is impressive.

To answer your question, if Sam were to win a 2nd Super Bowl next year, then yes, I'd have to (hesitantly) say he deserves to be considered the greatest QB in Seahawk history. The purpose of playing is to win rings, and Sam clearly was leading the team to one ring, so I'll assume he would play a major role in a second ring. The reason for being hesitant of course is that Russ came one play away from having a 2nd ring, and had Bevil called for a handoff to Marshawn instead of a pass play, he'd have likely gotten it -- and there also wouldn't have been a decades long primal scream among the fan base.

IMO you're applying too many "what ifs" in a very selective, ie cherry picking manner. What if Bevell hadn't called such a horrible play inside the 5 in SB 49 and Russell completed that pass for a TD? What if our defense hadn't surrendered that late FG in Atlanta in the 2012 playoffs?

The fact is that Russell is our winningest quarterback, largely responsible for our first Lombardi, is statistically our best quarterback in team history, was selected to multiple Pro Bowls, and arguably one of if not the most exciting player our franchise has ever had. IMO he's a slam dunk for our ROH.

I understand the conversation has moved on from a 1-day contract to a place in the 'Ring of Honour'. I'd like to ask what members think the RoH is, or what it means to them. To me it's the team honouring an individual. That individual did something for the team that merits permanent visible recognition. It doesn't mean that the person is a wonderful human being. For example I would expect OJ Simpson to be in the Bills RoH. It doesn't mean that Simpson was someone that should be held up as a role model for society. To me the RoH is not a list of the team's 'Walter Payton man-of-the-year' candidates/award winners.

For the record, USC still displays OJ's #32 jersey with the other Heisman winners.

I look at it differently.

The names that comprise the Ring of Honor are synonymous with 'The Seattle Seahawks'... and they should have brought honor... on, and off the field... to the franchise.

If you don't like how he ended up leaving that is understandable but he isn't a murderer like OJ and he has done a lot of good and commendable things. Did he get a big head, yeah he did, but some here are projecting him into a monster human being which is absurd.
