Wow, big loss for DeBoer, to have both Grubb and Huff defect. I assume that Scott Huff, who was brought to the Huskies by Chris Peterson and has been in Seattle since 2017 wasn't crazy about uprooting his family and moving to Tuscaloosa.

He was apparently offered by Alabama after he visited them the year before (this part is fact).

It's not a coincidence he ended up back in seattle, he could have gone nearly anywhere he wanted. I'd bet my left nut a hearty handful of nfl teams would have taken him as OC.

Yes, I'll admit to similar thoughts. More than DeBoer, I hope every college football fan, player and coach comes to a consensus that DeBoar left a place where he could have had it all for a mirage that led nowhere.

Yes, I think that the NIL system will negatively affect Alabama. Yes, Alabama football is big, but Tuscaloosa and the whole state of Alabama has a lot less money than one neighborhood in Seattle. Saban has been complaining about this for the last couple of years. There has been a lot of handwringing over what NIL is going to do to schools like Alabama. Georgia and the Florida schools might do okay, but the rest of the SEC will probably suffer in the NIL era. Didn't DeBoer see the writing on the wall?

The NIL, yes. And also the transfer portal. Schools like Alabama used to stack high school talent like cord wood. Kids would get stuck on the bench unless and until needed but it gave them amazing depth. Now it's so easy to move on. I think that was one of the keys to Washington winning the Pac-12 undefeated and coming so close to winning it all. If we had one more great running back on our roster, we very well might have gotten there. Hell, if Latu hadn't been told he could no longer play . . .

Let's hope this keeps Huff and Grubb here in Seattle for at least a few years instead of leaving to get promoted to other teams. That would be a huge win, knowing our OC and OL Coach choose to stay here because Seattle is their home, even if the both do extremely well enough to be considered for HC jobs elsewhere

If they leave because they have been promoted, logically that means they did a really good job for the Seahawks, which must mean then that the Seahawks also did well. I hope that the coordinators keep getting plucked for head jobs. It means MM is amazing and the Seahawks are winning. Lots.
I just don’t get the whole, “I don’t want the coordinators moving on” thought process. We had two(?) coordinators move up to HCs under PC. The rest lingered on like rotting fish and most couldn’t wait to get rid of them.

Against a backdrop where a single loss or failure to win the national championship is considered a failure. Coaches only get one chance to coach at Alabama...but be careful what you wish for. The SEC is tough, and the stress is going to be brutal. He would have remained a celebrity at UW with a very long leash.

The regional money is part of why UW brings in more revenue than Oregon.

No, it brings in more revenue because the campus is twice as large and has twice as many enrolled students.

UW has 8k foreign students, Oregon has 1300, what does REGIONAL money have to do with that?

Washington state has 7.7 million people, Oregon has 4.2.

That's besides the point anyways, revenue is literally useless.

Why does Oregon have SIGNIFICANTLY more to spend on nil than Washington?
